Innercalm is a safe and welcoming space for individuals to explore their innermost thoughts and emotions, allowing them to find peace and clarity within themselves. Through a combination mindful walking, somatic and attuning to nature practices, clients are able to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, true self and spiritual wellbeing. The hope is to help clients navigate through life's challenges and stresses, promoting self-awareness and personal growth. I use expressive art, nature and walking to foster an environment where clients are able to delve into their inner world and uncover the root causes of their struggles.

I am a mental health counselor who has worked in the mental health field for over nineteen years and have been a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and a licensed mental health counselor in Hawaii since 2013. Additionally, I have collaborated with clients of various ages, ethnicies, cultures, Nationalities and from all social classes dealing with a wide range of issues. My experience is vast as I have worked with the following: neuro-psychiatric, suicidal ideation/attempts, LGBTQIA, PTSD, anger management, grief/loss, trauma, abuse, relationship issues, school counseling, juvenile justice, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and the like.

People come to me for many reasons. For some, they are overall doing well in their life, but feel that there's something going on inside that's keeping them from reaching their full potential and finding true happiness and fulfillment. Others are actively experiencing challenges in their life and are open to receiving support, while still others are in real pain, and are looking for relief and help with that.

Psychological trauma occurs when our level of stress exceeds our ability to cope with that stress. When this happens, our subconscious minds often develop cognitive distortions and a disregulated nervous system (stuck in fight-or-flight survival mode) that can then lead to maladaptive behaviors. This may show up as feeling anxious or depressed, ADHD, memory issues, confusion, or dissociation, feeling stuck, or lacking stability, motivation, & focus in life. I specialize in helping womxn who have been subjected to narcissistic abuse by men. This type of romantic relationship is known as a "pathological love relationship" (PLR).

We will take a deep dive into your relationship and learn what your blocks are and if we can begin to remove them or learn how to navigate them. You will also leave with a plan on how to maintain this new way of connecting with one another over the months and years to come.
