No one is born knowing how to regulate their emotions, and most of us who are adults now were never actually taught, we just did our best to figure it out, and now we're trying to pass on the skill to small, emotionally volatile people with half-baked nervous systems. Traumatic events could include any experience a person perceived as threatening. My therapeutic modality is using a combination of Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Internal Relationship Focusing (IRF). I believe each client's body has the wisdom to guide us, client and therapist, through the resolution of trauma symptoms.
