I know firsthand what it feels like to show up for myself, even when I don’t feel it. As a Black woman, I understand how hard it is to live authentically in a society that makes you feel like you aren’t enough. My ideal client is someone who lives at the intersection of multiple minority identities. I enjoy helping individuals cope with stress, anxiety, depression, issues related to identity and the impact of organized religion. I prioritize Black women & Black Queer folx in my work.

I seek to create a safe and inclusive space for black-bodied individuals, LGBTQ+ folks, survivors of trauma, sex workers, and clients who are struggling with relationship and intimacy issues. My approach to mental health care is rooted in anti-oppressive and decolonizing frameworks. The treatment modalities that I use have been found to be effective across many cultures, ages, genders, and experiences. I am here to support my clients in rediscovering themselves, strengthening their mind-body connection, and living the life they have always wanted.

Our culture teaches us that it is weak to ask for help and gaining a badge of honor means sacrificing your mental well being so that other can be happy. You’re trying to navigate all of the transitions that come with being a teenager or young adult in the world. Maybe you feel overwhelmed and isolated as you try to do it all on your own. Transitions aren’t easy, whether you’re moving from one career to another, out of relationships that no longer serve you, or from college to graduate school. As hard as it can feel when you’re in the midst of it, these changes offer an opportunity for you to explore where you come from, who you are, and who you want to be.

I am a compassionate and dedicated person with a passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges and discover the path to positive emotions and self-love. I love working with individuals, guiding them on a journey of self-compassion, developing healthy coping skills, navigating complex emotions, and establishing crucial boundaries. Processing our experiences in the world while trying to balance work, relationships, family, self-care, and everyday responsibilities can be challenging and overwhelming. It’s even more complicated when one or more of our identities shape these experiences. This is why I strive to provide culturally informed, evidence-based care to individuals who often come from marginalized communities, including Black men and women, LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, veterans, and many others, while addressing a variety of concerns.

I am a Black queer cis woman. I hold space as a guide and a supporter. I strive to make therapy accessible with clear, direct communication, warm energy, and pre-emptive radically inclusive stance. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the Smith College School for Social Work. As a master-level social worker, I am currently pursuing my licensure in the state of Georgia under supervision at Heartwork. At Heartwork Counseling Center, we do not take insurance. We do offer a sliding scale. Our regular fee is $150.

I work with clients questioning life changes, navigating increased stress, exploring identities, and navigating relationships. Sometimes anxiety, depression, and stress impact our mood and thoughts, causing us to question who we are or how we operate. Sometimes life experiences around our identities also impact the stress we experience. Clients I work with seek a space to talk through and process life events, stressors, and changes while validating their experiences and affirming their identities.
