When you are a child, talking to your parents is seemingly impossible sometimes. Kids have big emotions they cannot understand or describe, and they think no one will get. Academic stressors, development, parent and peer relationships and significant or traumatic life events can cause a child or teenager to react in various ways. Some kids need a safe space to learn how to identify, express and cope with their feelings. Processing feelings helps to reduce stress and pressures.
