Hello everyone! I opened QueerSpace Counseling because it is my passion to work with the LGBTQ+ community to foster a safe space where clients can share their stories and find practical, easy to use interventions that provide relief. I believe that each of us can take steps for measurable success in our goals and operate from a trauma-informed approach. I work only with adult individuals (I do not offer couple's counseling).

The reasons people don't seek therapy are complex. For many, therapy exists within the very systems that have harmed them, yet therapeutic practices (& therapists) often ignore these truths when they ask individuals to “take charge” of and “own responsibility” for the distress and trauma in their lives without that broader understanding, or worse, from a place of privilege or toxic positivity. Clients who decide to work with me should be ready to engage deeply and authentically. My approach is empathetic and requires accountability, radical honesty, and a commitment to the work of healing.

I am a licensed mental health therapist who has been in the field for the last 7 years, and is dedicated to working with clients on establishing evidence-based strategies to manage anxiety, depression, and process through experienced traumas. I specialize in working with Cognitive Behavioral techniques as well as trauma focused strategies, such as EMDR and TF-CBT, to best support my clients in whatever challenges they face. I find it important to provide a safe space where you can share your thoughts and feelings openly to create solid therapeutic relationship.
