I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and have extensive experience working with adolescents, adults and families. My specialties are stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parent/child issues, trauma, abuse, blended families, behavior problems, self esteem and parenting. I use a variety of modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy, client- centered therapy, Solution focused therapy, and Christian counseling. I have a special love for teens, and love to see them blossom and grow as they discover their true potential. You will find our office to be a warm, friendly, relaxed place to seek wholeness.

Whether it be to overcome a minor stress or major crisis, or you are just looking to make a change in your life, therapy is intended to provide the safe environment to "try on" new ways of doing things. I specialize in couples therapy (premarital, marital, conflict/communication issues, separation/divorce, infidelity) and working with individuals who struggle with anxiety and depression.

Depending upon your needs and beliefs, I also address the role of spirituality.

There is often an overwhelming feeling, event, or life transition that brings someone to therapy, and, usually, that's only after they've tried to run away, ignore, or just push through "it." It’s not that you aren’t trying hard enough. You need support, and that’s ok. My goal is to support you through the process of healing and finding yourself again or for the first time. I often use EMDR to help clients reprocess traumatic or difficult experiences, to find relief from the symptoms that have been troubling them recently or for years.

My passion is rooted in working with individuals who may find themselves faced with life challenges of depression, anxiety, and trauma, as well as cultural specific barriers faced in the BIPOC community. Although my primary way of helping others address these hardships is through a cognitive and behavioral approach, I believe integrating techniques catered to the individual is optimal for change. Additionally, I believe our mental health is interconnected with our physical and spiritual well-being. Therefore, my focus is to help my clients align those elements for improved overall health.

David Silvers, Licensed Therapist – LMHC - State of Florida, and a CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist). He earned his MS from Troy State University in Counseling and Human Development and has trained with Dr. Patrick Carnes through the International Institute of Addiction Professionals (IITAP). David specializes in the treatment of sex addiction and other co-occurring disorders including depression, anxiety, and trauma. He has been in the addiction treatment field since 2007 and understands the devastating effects of active addiction and that recovery and lasting change is possible.

For 20+ years, I've provided a safe space for people to talk about their anxiety, fears, and relationships. I listen attentively & without judgement. I am excited to work alongside clients that demonstrate difficulty establishing and maintaining healthy relationships, who are feeling stuck and paralyzed in their own lives, and who are experiencing stress related to major or unexpected life transitions.

I became a Marriage and Family Therapist because I enjoy processing with individuals and listening to personal journeys to find a resolution. I was a High School performance art major and find this skill set benefical in providing supports through visual cues using various therapeutic approaches and modalities. I specialize in working with children and families in child welfare. I enjoy working with young children and teens as these are challenging developmental years, trauma and distress from systemic and familial patterns of behaviors, coupled with low parenting, coping, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

In each area I counsel I provide good listening skills, I am nonjudgmental, insightful, and supportive. Through the years I have provided support and to help modify problem behaviors to those that suffer from anxiety, depression, poor coping, stress, grief, OCD, eating disorders, and addictions. I have also worked with couples and guided them through their relationship problems including affairs, money, stress, and any issue that occurs within a relationship.
