As a marriage and family therapist, I am uniquely trained to identify, track and break patterns between couples & families in conflict. In couples counseling I help parties develop greater insight into their relationship and maintain a mindfulness toward its growth. Through focusing on action steps, I actively challenge individuals and couples to take accountability for their own thoughts and behavior as opposed to assessing their partner's.

I have experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities including Autism, Down syndrome, Angelman Syndrome, and other disorders. I have additional experience serving children and adults with mental health disorders including Reactive Attachment Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, ODD, Drug and Alcohol Addiction, and trauma. I have experience treating neurological disorders including Dementia, Parksinson's Disease, Cortical Visual Impairment, and Cerebral Palsy. In 2011, three of my cousins were murdered. Their funeral was so big that it was held in a school gym and cafeteria; I realized in that moment how many lives these three humans had impacted. That funeral was the first time I saw my family from a larger systems perspective and knew that in order to create opportunities for healing and change that working as a Marriage and Family Therapist was what I wanted to do.

I help my clients become aware that their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and emotions can lead to problematic behaviors. Through CBT I help clients identify and challenge these negative thoughts, and replace them with more positive and constructive ones reducing emotional distress.
