I treat individuals, couples, adults, and children that are dealing with substance abuse, relationship issues and a wide variety of other life challenges to include, mood disorders, sexual addictions, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and work-related issues. We'll look for short term solutions that help you cope, and long term solutions that help you understand.

My education is in addictions and social work. My experience includes working with a diversity of populations in varying capacities including: Agricultural families, alcohol/drug/ gambling treatment; domestic violence; LGBTQIA+ communities; active/veteran military/law enforcement/corrections workers/firefighters, EMS, (C-PTSD) and family members of said populations. Our Practice is linked to a number of EAP programs, and encourage people to utilize those benefits too.

Solution-focused therapy, couples, and family. I have worked with teens (16-19) at a Job Corps Center for 37 years. I have taught at our local University and provided therapy to students. I work for 8 employee assistance programs. We develop a change plan and work on the goals of the plan.

With a background in dual diagnosis and focus on trauma, I love working with those who desire to heal from their past, challenging negative thinking patterns and behaviors. I believe with support and exploration, we can grow into the individuals that bring us towards our best selves and our own vision of a content/peaceful life. My passions include working with adults 18+ through life transitions, complex trauma, personality disorders, relationship issues and codependency, substance use, grief and loss, eating disorders, body image, and self-esteem.

I use a combination of EMDR and IFS, Internal Family Systems, guided meditation and relaxation techniques to help clients explore their feelings and needs so they can find the happiness they desire. Both EMDR and IFS are evidence-based, transformative therapies for treating trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance abuse. Rooted in neuroscience, these approaches allow clients to access inner resources and self-compassion for healing emotional wounding at its core. I teach clients a new way to identify with their "wise, healthy self", separating the person from the symptom, so they can heal.

Cathrin has worked in a plethora of settings, including an inpatient crisis hospital, with military families, career counseling, and for a non-profit in a sexual abuse trauma treatment program. She specializes in Military Culture, Blended Families, Divorce, and Addiction. Oftentimes, the past which shaped us, is now keeping us stuck. Cathrin works with you to find your “stuck points” and explore how to get them unstuck at a pace comfortable to you. Cathrin’s life passion is helping others discover their own. She strives to help clients find their own purpose and passion for life, whatever that may be.

It is important that we are all able to have the opportunity to enhance our quality of life by exploration of self and challenging negative thought patterns that lead us in directions that decrease our sense of self. I enjoy working with older adolescence and adults to help them cope with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, life transitions, addiction, grief and loss, and ADHD.
