We all desire meaningful, close relationships to bring happiness in our lives. Developing a trusting and supportive therapy relationship can be an important start getting there. Feeling connected in relationships is an essential aspect of our emotional well-being. My passion over the past 29 years, is helping clients develop relational mindfulness through exploring thoughts, feelings, past traumas, and early attachment patterns. My work is attachment-informed, IFS informed, and emotionally focused. Together, we'll explore how to build greater self-compassion, acceptance, and strong emotional awareness.

I am a individual adult counselor and PACT trained couple/marriage therapist. Psychotherapy is a journey of self-exploration, self-discovery and self-awareness. My approach centers around a belief in the healing and transformative power of mindfulness, and mind-body awareness. With guidance and support, these tools lead to freedom, joy, the manifestation of your natural talents and gifts, and your true voice. I offer a supportive, compassionate style, and a strong, steady, presence for our work together; I also skillfully and precisely challenge the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral patterns that keep you feeling stuck.

I also utilize CBT and mindfulness to increase mutual understanding, compassion, & empathy.
I believe everyone has the right to pursue happiness and that everyone possesses the capacity to achieve their own happiness. Finding the right kind of therapy can be difficult. Often times, therapists require you to drive to an unfamiliar office, expect you to explain the challenges you're having at home, and then return home to try and put what you've learned into action. Why not explore, learn, and change things in your home in real time? I offer individual and/or family therapy directly in the home to address real challenges in real time. Regain control of your life and bring happiness back into your home.

My integrated therapeutic style combines evidence-based behavioral therapies, mindfulness, relaxation techniques, somatic therapy, and psychodynamic therapy to help clients gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Welcome! I'm a therapist with a passion for helping individuals overcome unhelpful anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues so they can live more fulfilling lives. While all emotions serve valuable purposes, they can sometimes feel overwhelming and limit our life experiences. However, with the right support, you can build resilience and develop coping skills to navigate life's challenges. My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where we can explore your emotions, behaviors, and associated issues (such as anxiety, depression, and substance use) and discover effective strategies to achieve better mental health.

In my practice, while I do process content and heal trauma through typical psychotherapy, I also use the skills of mindfulness to help you connect with a deep sense of stillness and openness within your own mind.
The mind is a good servant, but a bad master. Stop being blown around like a leaf on the wind by every thought, feeling, and memory that pops into your head. Mental events arise involuntarily, and the more you try to force them all into the mold of happiness, the more they seem to rebel, like trying to smooth out waves in water with your hands. However, just because you can’t control them directly does not mean that you have to be controlled by them. You can learn to stop touching the water and let the waves settle, and how to stop buying in to every mental event, even when negative ones do arise.

I have a special interest in attachment, neurology, trauma processing, and mindfulness.
When I explain my job to my youngest clients, I tell them that sometimes people have big emotions that make everyday activities like planning, getting to work, or even getting out of bed in the morning seem impossible. And it is my job to help those people figure out how to feel better. Our lives are full of trauma, loss, and challenge. It is easy to get overwhelmed by these experiences and fall into habits that don't serve our greater goals.

As a child, adults said to you: “Wow, you’re mature for your age!” Maybe you had to be. Growing up, you walked on eggshells, desperate to keep the peace. You tried to stay as small, quiet, and compliant as possible. You found yourself parenting your parent, navigating their difficult emotions, but you weren’t allowed to have any of your own. As an adult, you find yourself continuing to live in these patterns. You say “yes” when you want to say “no”. You put everyone else’s needs ahead of your own. You deny your emotions and you doubt your intuition. You feel lonely, unseen, and unknown.
