Every person has the inherent ability to grow, heal and transform their lives. My name is Jayme Richards and I provide therapy for individuals and couples using a mindfulness lens. My areas of expertise include trauma, anxiety, and depression. I work with all forms of trauma including: complex, sexual, verbal abuse, physical abuse, bullying, religious, medical, institutional and race/ethnicity based. Other areas of knowledge include working with shame, body image issues, life transitions, self-acceptance, and ADHD management. I mostly work with individuals but also see couples with alternative relationship structures.

I have over 20 years of experience as a social worker and therapist and over 14 years as an art therapist. I have worked with children and families in a variety of settings and capacities. I started my career working in foster care and residential settings and have experience working with grief/loss, trauma, family discord, behavioral and emotional issues, and mood disorders. Since becoming a parent in 2006, I have a passion for working with parents, women and mothers as well as adolescents. I am able to engage individuals who may be uncomfortable with traditional talk therapy.

I have experience and training in supporting clients struggling with a wide range of issues pertaining to mental health including depression, anxiety, life transitions, chronic pain, grief, shame, and trauma. Seeking therapy is not always an easy decision and I welcome the decision of my clients to pursue change, greater life satisfaction and resolution of troublesome behaviors or relationships. Each client is unique and brings their own story. As a psychologist I try to help them find meaningful change leading to a more satisfactory life. My clinical focus is interpersonal trauma which includes sexual abuse, PTSD, and relationship issues. I also work with anxiety, life transitions, and attachment issues.

My goal as a therapist is to help my clients achieve their goals whether that includes easing symptoms of depression or anxiety, working through difficult issues (current or past), increasing coping skills, increasing self-esteem, and/or identifying what's next in life. As an avid outdoorsman and a Cross Country Ski instructor on weekends, I also frequently work with individuals from the climbing, skiing, mountaineering and other outdoor recreation communities.
