Greetings! My name is Shaun Fossett and I am an LPC with eight years of experience working in a variety of clinical settings. I specialize in working with adults dealing with concerns related to interpersonal relationships, anxiety, and trauma. By embracing a multicultural orientation in my counseling practice, I aim to create a safe and empowering space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and identities without fear of judgment or discrimination.

Being a woman in this world can feel so overwhelming- we feel like we are too much and also not enough, all at the same time. I work primarily with the LGBTQIA+ community. This work sometimes includes specific phases of life that are unique to the queer community, such as coming out or transitioning. Other times, the work includes issues that can affect anyone, regardless of one's sexual orientation or gender identity. These issues could include relational conflict, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, career exploration, personal growth, divorce, parenting, etc.

We are all created with the capacity to grow and heal. This sometimes involves making hard choices, including daring to invite others into our journey. My hope and goal is to walk alongside you in your struggles, listen to your story, and encourage you along your path. I'm Cassie (she/they), and I would describe myself as a nurturer who strives to create a therapeutic space in which children, adolescents, and adults can feel safe and seen. I am trained in Art Therapy, as well as Play Therapy (yes, online works too!). I believe the capacity to heal is within us already, and the therapeutic relationship can reminds us of our own strength.

Having worked in a variety of settings over the past 10 years from school-based counseling to county-wide Crisis Response, I have witnessed the full spectrum of the human experience across the lifespan. I am aware how jarring transitions can be, how trauma shatters our sense of self and security, and how disruptive and painful depression and anxiety are in one’s daily life.

You’ve read the self-help books, you’ve tried to work on changing your thoughts, you grabbed some anxiety medication from the doc, you’ve done the deep breathing techniques and maybe even tried meditation for a hot minute… …and still. Sometimes that can be a wonderful thing, and other times that reality can be frustrating to accept or work through. I believe those frustrations, when left unaddressed, can and often do lead to feelings of depression and/or anxiety, and can also put a strain on relationships. I believe therapy should be a safe space to give voice to those frustrations and an opportunity for healing.
