Many of my clients understand that they are struggling, yet are unsure what to do about it. Be it depression, anxiety, substance use, identity, trauma, or other such issues, it may seem overwhelming to address without guidance. Many have not engaged in counseling before or had a setback in their lives that they need assistance exploring. Many clients want freedom to be authentic in who they are, but have difficulty believing this is possible. We learn, together, that believing in and finding compassion for the self is an experience of being courageous and vulnerability is strength. We learn to own all of ourselves.

Welcome, my name is Landan Hydrick. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor working in Colorado. I am originally from South Carolina but moved to Colorado two years ago after graduate school. I graduated with my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Clemson University. I believe that no matter your race, religion, sex, ideas or beliefs, we are still human. We all have universal emotions, struggles, expectations and goals. My mode of care is to act as a guide in the therapeutic relationship with you, because ultimately, you are the one who creates real change and knows yourself best.

I use talk therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and offer yoga to help clients discover what works for them.

The past few years have been traumatic for individuals and families all over the world. Many have had difficulty coping with their day-to-day struggles which has been compounded by underlying traumatic events, abuse, and lack of support. Many struggle with unhealthy coping mechanisms to help them manage their depression and anxiety. This often leads to neglecting individual needs, toxic relationships, and substance use. Understanding how these issues manifest in one's life and discovering how to heal and become the best version of oneself is a difficult process that is most effective with someone to serve as a guide.

Are you tried of feeling like you don’t have any control in life? Are you tired of worrying and anticipating the worse? Sexual abuse, domestic abuse, and other traumatic experiences impact us for a lifetime. The experience often leaves us feeling confused, doubtful, anxious, sad, and worthless. These traumatic experiences can shake the very core of our being, impact our relationships, and make us wonder how to move on and live fulfilling lives. Sometimes these horrible things make us feel lost and stuck in life.

I am a Licensed Social Worker, and am EMDR Certified. I enjoy utilizing a person’s strengths to help clients through their therapeutic journey. No client is the same, which is why there is “no one therapeutic modality fits everyone,” when it comes to my approach as a therapist. I currently work with adults 18 years and older. I have experience working with trauma, clients who have been sex trafficked, anxiety, life transitions, and grief and loss. My primary focus is working with clients who have experienced developmental or intergenerational trauma. My office hours are generally Monday-Friday 8-4.

Seeking help is not easy. It takes courage to step out and be vulnerable and I want to commend you for taking this first step.
