Many of my clients understand that they are struggling, yet are unsure what to do about it. Be it depression, anxiety, substance use, identity, trauma, or other such issues, it may seem overwhelming to address without guidance. Many have not engaged in counseling before or had a setback in their lives that they need assistance exploring. Many clients want freedom to be authentic in who they are, but have difficulty believing this is possible. We learn, together, that believing in and finding compassion for the self is an experience of being courageous and vulnerability is strength. We learn to own all of ourselves.

Self-doubt. Overwhelm. Hopelessness. The fears and limiting messages of past traumas. Feeling disconnected from our partners, as if we speak different languages. Inability to relax and feel at peace. I am a Licensed Social Worker, and am EMDR Certified. I enjoy utilizing a person’s strengths to help clients through their therapeutic journey. No client is the same, which is why there is “no one therapeutic modality fits everyone,” when it comes to my approach as a therapist. I currently work with adults 18 years and older. I have experience working with trauma, clients who have been sex trafficked, anxiety, life transitions, and grief and loss. My primary focus is working with clients who have experienced developmental or intergenerational trauma. My office hours are generally Monday-Friday 8-4.

I specialize in children, teenagers, and young adults with anxiety and depression, especially with estrangement issues such as conflict with parents, divorced and/or deployed parents, as well as career planning. I have experience treating those with mild symptoms who need a sounding board to those with severe suicidal ideation and self-harm who need a comprehensive treatment plan integrated with multiple providers. I am a Christian and can offer help from a biblical perspective if desired.

I hold a specialty certification as a Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP) and have completed several grief and trauma focused trainings, including EMDR, a highly effective trauma treatment. I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of presenting concerns, including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, relational conflict, as well as varying forms and degrees of trauma.

I have experience with children, teens, and adults with behavioral issues, ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma. I have experience w/ caregiver burnout and chronic health issues. I am currently only seeing adults but will take teen clients on a case by case basis. I am especially passionate about helping parents develop skills to help support their children with difficult behaviors. I work with clients at their own pace and help them establish and meet goals in order to address the concerns they bring to the table. My goal is to help clients develop healthier ways of coping with difficult situations both past and present.

I will not be asking you "How does that make you feel?" YOU are the expert in you and my role is to help you understand things that are in your way and how to get rid of them. I served in Army, Navy and in the Marine infantry with three combat tours. I've had to work through my own trauma and struggles and after I did, I went back to get my degree so I can help people struggling to move forward. I partner with clients to help build understanding of where the problems originate so you can revise the narrative and move toward the person you want to be.

I am passionate about marriage counseling or couples counseling, family counseling, and restoring any type of broken relationship. You don't have to continue in the struggle! I have worked in Early Childhood Education for 25 years, which has given me the opportunity to help young children develop social-emotional skills. I look forward to utilizing these skills I've learned to help my clients strengthen their areas of need within the field of mental health.

I thrive on collaboration, having built strong partnerships with various community stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for those in need.
