Hi, I am Alyssa Syrdal and I am the owner and primary clinician at Juniper Therapy. I specialize in working with children, adolescents and their families. My background is in early childhood development and working with children with special needs and their families. Alongside my work with children with special needs I studied and gained great understanding and experience in working with those struggling or in recovery for an eating disorder, disordered eating, or body image concerns. In recent years I have done extensive work with children and their families regarding trauma processing, behaviors and other emotional disturbances.

Being a human is rough. I won’t pretend to know where you’re at right now but I’d really like to hear your story. In my work I emphasize individualized care and self determination that puts you at the helm. I primarily work with individuals who find themselves at a crossroads and are looking for empathic support and guidance. I also provide animal assisted therapy and emotional support animal (ESA) consultation. My focus is on creating and holding a space for you to reflect, learn, and grow in whatever direction you choose. Our individual experiences shape us - they inform our behaviors, perceptions, and attitudes about ourselves and the world around us. In particular our experiences of grief, loss, and trauma have a significant impact on who we are as adults. My work in addictions has shown me the implications that unresolved childhood trauma and grief has on a person, and how it shows up in adulthood. Unprocessed emotions are stored in the crevices of our mind, waiting for the opportunity to be expressed. My goal is to help you process stuck emotions, grief and trauma in a way that works for you, and at your own pace.
