Hi there! I am so glad you’re here. As a counselor, I am passionate about serving my community. I hold my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. I pull from a variety of experiences in working in the mental health care industry including working with adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities, adolescents in school settings, adult and adolescent inpatient treatment, mental health and the outdoors, corrections counseling, private practice, and group counseling for transgender adolescents. Experiences of anxiety, depression, and trauma take a massive toll on our lives and relationships, often leaving us feeling out of control, disconnected, and dissatisfied. However, I believe that healing is not only possible, but is something that we are naturally moving toward, even when it doesn't feel that way. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can reconnect to that natural impulse toward healing.

The work I do with clients is rooted in the belief that connecting with all of the parts that make us who we are and forming meaningful relationships with our surrounding community (both human and non-human) can help us find solid ground in times of stress, trauma, and challenging life transitions. I specialize in helping children, teens and young adults develop the skills to find nervous system regulation, form healthy attachments, and build skills to manage anxiety and depression. I predominantly (and not exclusively) work with folks in the LGBTQIA2S+ community, believing that every body deserves a caring space to heal and restore

I work with individuals struggling with the effects of unresolved trauma, which can look like experiences of anxiety, depression, and panic attacks, as well as challenges in relationships and sex life. My counseling incorporates a mind/ body approach that is based on an understanding of the neurobiology of trauma and that is highly attuned to cultural and societal context so as to promote more possibilities for healing. My aspiration is to support my clients to feel keenly aware of their sense of empowerment, agency, and wholeness in the present moment rather than feeling defenseless against overwhelming emotions and bodily states.

Outside of these communities I also enjoy working with people who struggle with chronic health problems, depression, anxiety, and trauma to name just a few. Are you feeling disconnected from yourself or your relationship? I can help! I enjoy working with and empowering adolescents, couples, and the elderly to overcome obstacles and process through trauma that impacts growth. I also use qEEG Neurofeedback to address the struggles associated with ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, autism, and behavioral issues in children and adults. Neurofeedback is a non-invasive treatment modality and changes are noticed faster than with a pharmacological approach.

I have spent the last 30 years working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples cultivating a treatment approach that aides in creating quick, long lasting, permanent change. This has led me down a path of studying the neurobiology of the brain and using treatment methods including Brainspotting, Mindfulness, Psycho-Neuro-Immunology and the Neuro-Psychology of the brain. I teach both nationally and internationally on these treatment interventions. Ask about my intensives.

I provide online therapy in Colorado & Idaho, as well as in-office therapy in Broomfield, CO. I use holistic approaches to address the treatment for couples, families, and individuals to address familial relationships, coupleship discourse (all orientations), CNM/poly relationships, neurodiversity, autism, anxiety, depression, & ADHD. I am a firm believer that relationships and connection are intrinsic to personal development and each person’s values are important in the development of a course of treatment based on the goals and desired outcome clients have selected.

I am an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Couple/Relationship Counselor, licensed in Colorado and Hawaii. I help individuals and those in traditional, or non-traditional, relationships, explore issues surrounding: sex, sexuality/sexual orientation, gender, sexual performance/functioning, desire discrepancy, kink/fetishes, compulsive sexual behavior/sex addiction, sexual abuse/trauma, communication, intimacy, and betrays of trust/infidelity. Not Accepting New Clients Not afraid of humor as well as difficult feelings, I work with people who want to get back in touch with what's most important to them to feel more connected to themselves and others. I love helping people identify their "Why bother?" such as "Why bother with trying to work less, exercise more, drink less, or feel feelings more?" Negative thinking, anxiety, and increased drinking and other behaviors can be invitations to re-evaluate if you're pursuing the kind of life you desire. I'm here to help you get to the root of symptoms, understand and get past avoidance, clarify values, and celebrate progress!
