I pull from DBT, CBT, Gottman and narrative therapy when direct, tangible skills are needed.
If you're feeling stuck, anxious about your future, and finding it difficult to move forward in your life than I would love to chat with you. I offer a nonjudgmental space where you can be both supported and encouraged to lean into the discomfort. I provide space to process feelings and also provide tangible skills so therapy is a daily practice. I work with teens (12+), young adults navigating the complexity of launching their lives, couples and adults experiencing burn out, anxiety, and difficulty seeing their own self worth. I believe each person has their own inner wisdom and I want to help you access it.

I use evidence-based practices in mindfulness, CBT, and DBT that are grounded in science and shown to be effective.
Sometimes in life, depression and anxiety can feel like they are limiting your options and moving you away from your values. This can create feelings of misdirection and occasional coping in ways that are temporarily helpful but ultimately hurtful. Or it can lead you to unhappy relationships. You may struggle to stop these patterns, even though you know these are not the directions you want your life to go. Maybe you are trying to figure out who you are, trying on different personas and hoping that one will feel right.

I incorporate Internal Family Systems, Narrative Theory, and CBT.
Being a human being is complicated, and complex, and can sometimes be overwhelming. It is therapeutic to have someone to share our true selves with free of judgment. I believe each client holds the answers, and in my work, I support you on your journey. I meet you where you are, and together we identify where you would like to go, and what parts of yourself you would like to call forward. I can help you explore your inner world, and help you connect your internal experiences to your external experiences. I support clients dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and relational dynamics.

During challenging times, much that we’ve taken for granted - health, finance, career, dating, dreams - may suddenly feel elusive, precarious even. I'll help you identify, then challenge any "thinking" obstacles, to guide you past what holds you back. I will collaborate with you towards acceptance or management of any real challenges you face, and help you to expand your tools. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapies (IPT) therapies, but also draw from traditional psychodynamic theory (i.e. attachment and early family dynamics) and mindfulness to gently guide you toward your desired change.

I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as both modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality and allow us to work together to chart a path forward.
My name is Joshua Bienenfeld, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles, California and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in anxiety, stress, and caregiver issues, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. I have found that my style and approach is a good fit for teens and young adults who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions and social pressures.

I strive to provide an inclusive feeling in my practice where everyone’s uniqueness is embraced, explored, and celebrated. I utilize a variety of modalities including Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, and Mindfulness. After practicing for more than 20 years what I have learned is that therapy is not one size fits all, success and progress look different for each person, everybody is doing their best always no matter what, and in the end the best predictor of treatment success is the relationship we create in our work together. If we can build a trusting relationship then the journey will be successful.

I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities and techniques stemming from psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness based practices.
As a culture, we are taught to suppress our emotions. We would do anything and everything to distract ourselves as opposed to diving in. I’m a firm believer that our bodies hold our emotions, experiences and traumas. If we turn within, we can find the resources to deal with any problem and we can create a life of satisfaction, love and joy. I am a Licensed psychotherapist that sees individuals and couples via telehealth in California, New Jersey and Florida. I am the founder of a CA based Group Psychotherapy Practice called The Feeling Space (www.thefeelingspace.me / 424 274 0518). Check out some of my colleagues below:
