Amina obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut. Amina has experience working with various population such as adults, youth and children. Amina has experience working with high risk children who receive special education in a clinical day school. Amina works with 3-15 years of age of varying academic levels, learning abilities, and behavioral and emotional issues.

I work with clients who come to therapy to find relief from suffering. Often they have experienced early childhood conditions that led to attachment and relational disorders, experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar and other mental health issues. I specialize in working with teen or adult victims of childhood trauma who have chronic physical and mental health disorders. I also offer Clinical Supervision for Associated MFTs.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist who specializes in substance use and trauma. My goal as a clinician is to create a safe and collaborative space to identify each client’s personal goals for therapy and engage client centered interventions to assist them with achieving their goals. In my practice, I employ Brainspotting, a trauma-informed therapeutic approach, to help unearth and explore thoughts, emotions, and sensations that may have been unintentionally suppressed or concealed. I also integrate Internal Family Systems therapy, which emphasizes the presence of various aspects within ourselves.
