I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with over 25 years experience providing counseling to children, teens, adults and families. Children, Teens, Adults, Couples, Families: There are many reasons why you might have decided to start therapy. Maybe you are struggling with choices in your life, or you are feeling overwhelmed with life changes. Maybe you have recently lost a loved one or have become a new parent, or maybe your feeling of worry is out of control. Maybe you are questioning or doubting yourself and who you are or are in a relationship that is struggling, and you would like to strengthen it. I am bilingual Spanish/English speaking.

I offer therapy in both English and Spanish. I am passionate about working with adult clients who are struggling with a range of mental health issues such as life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger, and sexual boundaries. My experience also includes Latinx communities, and group therapy. Through my clinical work with clients I utilize evidence based practices such as solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. My approach is to address issues and find ways to grow and increase resilience to move forward.

My life experiences, training, and passion to help others motivate me daily to support, educate, and guide my patients in a safe non-judgmental approach. I started my journey supporting clients to learn how they can manage their symptoms focusing on their personal strengths and teaching self-empowerment. My focus is also to help my patients from the bi-cultural perspectives as I am also a bi-cultural and bilingual Spanish-speaking therapist with life experiences that assist me greatly with cultural differences impacting our lives.

I strive to provide a safe environment to share highs and lows and hopes and fears with clients as they too pursue those cherished relationships.

As late-diagnosed multiply neurodivergent person (AuDHD) myself, I offer a depth of understanding only lived experience can provide. I hold a prior career in art activism and my prior career influences my practice in many different ways. For example, I commit to providing spaces that foster decolonization. My approach includes a lot of transparency and flexibility. I believe therapy is most helpful when it's a hands-on process so I aim to create sessions that end with a tangible tool or goal because sharing our stories is only one piece of the healing process. It’s important for me to share with my clients that I live with chronic mental and physical health issues so I am actively practicing a lot of the same tools I bring forth to clients.

I believe in creating a safe and nurturing environment by providing empathy, compassion, and a genuine approach in the treatment process. Since 2009, I have been treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational/intimacy issues. I integrate mindfulness meditation, CBT, healthy living practices and family systems techniques as a strategy to facilitate growth, healing, and balance.

I like to get to know the person, their environment and I like for therapy to feel like a conversation. I tend to be myself in sessions and help clients feel comfortable while also holding accountability for change through unconditional positive regard.
