Looking for a therapist is likely one of the last things you imagined you would be doing. Clients often don’t know what they need when we first meet. That’s OK. The death of a spouse/partner, family member or friend is life altering. The range of thoughts are endless: what am I going to do…life feels pointless…I’m grateful for the life we had…I don’t feel connected to anything…reminders are everywhere…I’m in a fog…when will this be over…I feel their presence...I died with them…I’m terrified (just to name a few). Death is disorienting and isolating. Please know "I get it".
Having hope right now may be difficult. My goal is to walk with you through the grief process, not to push or pull you. I'm focused on helping you move through it, not to "get over it". My experience allows me to sit with your pain and provide a space you can feel safe, supported and heard without judgment.
Over the last 16 years I’ve met with 400+ widow/partner loss clients. I have facilitated 600+ widow/partner loss groups at a non-profit in Seattle. Everyone grieves differently and I have seen hope return to many people. As a widower myself of 20 years I know this is hard, so please reach out when it feels right for you. Looking forward to hearing from you.
