I am a compassionate and caring therapist with 30 years of experience. My first priority in therapy is to lower your distress and give you hope for the future. Together, we uncover the triggers and negative patterns that lead to your unhappiness, and then build a personalized "tool kit" of coping skills, specifically designed around your life challenges. By doing so, you develop a stronger sense of self and compassion for your suffering. With this new understanding, you learn to honor and listen to your authentic self, which is the ultimate key to happiness.
My specialty is EMDR therapy which uses eye movements or tapping, to activate both your "thinking" and "feeling" brain to resolve issues in a new, more balanced way.. Instead of feeling overwhelmed emotionally, EMDR balances this out by left brain activation, thereby putting your "best self" back in the driver's seat of your life.
I believe that deep down in every person is a "best self" that wants to emerge. My job is to create a safe place to reactivate this authentic self in a pace and manner that is comfortable for the client.
