Hi, thank you for visiting. After 20 years as a therapist, I have found that people need a combination of support, insight, and challenging interactions to help them move past obstacles they are facing. I work with individuals on the most intimate aspects of their lives, including their sexuality, relationships, and life and death issues. My style is interactive and relational, and employs uncovering family of origin dynamics, but also more practical, EMDR and Brainspotting methods to help make changes more quickly. My specialty is in all aspects of loss and grief, addictions, eating disorders, relationships, trauma and cancer.

Finding the right therapist can often feel challenging and overwhelming. Congratulations on taking the first step! In order to make the process a little easier, I offer a complementary a 15-minute phone or zoom consultation so we can discuss working together and determine if we are a good match. I enjoy working with people who have experienced various life journeys. I have a great deal of experience with anxiety, chronic illness, eating disorders, addictions, gender identity, LGBTQI+ and teens/families. It can be difficult to ask for help. As a therapist at Life After Birth, I work with women and couples facing all phases of parenthood, from conception and pregnancy through birth and beyond. The transition to motherhood is a profound shift in identity. Mothers and couples often need guidance and support to navigate their new world. Life after having a baby can be overwhelming, chaotic, and unmanageable, and so much of the emotional reality of motherhood is avoided in day-to-day conversation because of shame, fear, or embarrassment.

As a depth psychotherapist, my intention is to help you navigate your personal depths; look beyond cultural expectations and all of the shoulds that have cluttered your life. Together we can work to unravel the defenses that have been unconsciously built to protect your heart and soul from feeling, and have kept you out of the present. By assiduously listening and freely playing, we will unearth who you really are and investigate what may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

What does "balance" and "safety" look like, feel like, and mean to you? I aim to provide a safe, healing space for clients, ensuring I take into account what "safe" and "balance" means to each individual in this current time and how that aligns with current needs, life events, and experiences. I predominantly work with the adolescent & young adult populations, addressing anxiety, relationship with food and body, personality traits/disorders, relationships, and life transitions. I am also passionate about exploring diet culture and the role of wellness culture in our lives.

Coping with an eating disorder or a traumatic experience sucks. But YOU don't, and your recovery doesn't have to either. It's not your fault that striving for acceptance or relief turned into something that now controls your life. Highly Sensitive People may be more susceptible to food and body image issues, but you also can benefit greatly from therapy and can make some seriously awe-inspiring changes. I've seen it, and it's why I keep doing the work I do. We need more empowered, attuned individuals in this world.

Most people come to me when problems have become unbearable. They feel alone and stuck and powerless to do anything about it. They come in hoping I can tell them what they need to do to feel better. I provide support and guidance so that my patients do not have to bear their struggles alone. We work collaboratively to understand what is not working and why. We examine past patterns of experience to help us to understand current feelings and behaviors. By addressing the underlying issues that are creating problems, we can create lasting change and transformation.

Accepting new clients! Although people seek therapy for a variety of reasons, we all strive to create a sense of self-worth, develop healthy relationships, achieve our goals, and lead a fulfilling life. My aim is to develop a trusting and genuine therapeutic relationship, impart practical tools to work through current problems, and work together to explore and heal the underlying causes of those problems. I have experience working with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, trauma, spiritual issues, and grief and loss.

I am passionate about working with a range of ages from children to adults. All populations are can undergo transitional periods and stages of change that can cause anxiety and extreme stress. Some of my particular areas of interest are: grief, loss, relationships, trauma, attachment, depression, anxiety, substance use, grief, OCD, relationship conflict, and adjustment difficulties. I am EMDR certified and enjoy using this treatment approach to heal clients. Additionally, I enjoy treating athletes and people in the performance industry.

I am deeply dedicated to helping individuals and couples understand and resolve their problems in order to live more satisfying, fulfilling lives. As a result of 45 years of experience, coupled with extensive training, I am rapidly able to assess what is at the core of my client's difficulties. I then use a holistic approach that is a combination of education and therapy, which enables clients to apply what they have learned and ultimately become their own therapists. I believe that the problems we encounter in life are always learning opportunities, and that learning is a lifetime process.

For the past 40 years, I have had the pleasure of assisting my clients in overcoming their internal and external challenges. I am grateful for all the guidance and training I have received from my teachers, mentors, and supervisors. With their help, I have gained a deep understanding of psychodynamic, developmental, and mindfulness psychotherapy, which has enabled me to help clients of all ages, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations move forward. Therapy is a process of self discovery that helps you understand yourself and resolve difficulties in relationships with others. I have been working with adults, teenagers, families and couples for over 30 years. I treat depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. I work with many couples. I see people who have been neglected and abused emotionally. I work deeply and personally with each person/couple to understand their fears and pain. I do my work with great involvement. I am very easy to talk to. I provide a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere that enhances positive change and increased self-esteem.
