Now Accepting New Clients. I practice counseling individuals and families at Mental Health of Southern Utah. I specialize in the treatment of attachment, depression, anxiety, and addiction. I have helped many through addictions of pornography and other substances. I have worked with teenagers and families for well over 10 years. I and was trained foundationally in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy from the Linehan Institute at the Mclean Hospital in Boston, MA, as well as was trained in EMDR therapy. I have been trained in the Gottman approach for couples counseling and enjoy helping couples learn to connect and communicate.

My passion is to connect with kids that is more natural and comfortable. It can be hard and uncomfortable for kids to "talk" about personal and difficult emotions. Because of this, my focus is on utilizing expressive therapies to help children sort through and process emotions and events through art, playing games, structured and unstructured play, etc. all while helping them to identify their own strengths, how to use those strengths to overcome the challenges they are facing, and work toward an optimistic future!

Because I believe what human intuition teaches us - that when you feel connected, heard, and valued then you find the strength to live your fullest life and make the changes necessary to achieve your goals. I am the luckiest counselor in the world because I get to wake up each day and do what I was born to do - to connect with people. This helps my clients to discover what they stand for and what gives them meaning in life.

For many years, I have specialized in helping struggling adolescents and families dealing with depression, anxiety, defiance, negative communication/ interaction, and substance abuse. Additionally, I have worked to help children understand and work through traumatic events in their lives as well as guiding couples and families as they find hope in their relationships.
