Welcome to my practice. I'm passionate about validating, challenging and connecting with my clients. I enjoy working with people in life transitions, perhaps you're feeling stuck and wanting to shed old patterns of behavior to use different parts of self. My clients have described me as warm but able to be direct in a safe, non judgmental atmosphere. I am intensively trained in DBT and EMDR weaving in neuroscience and attachment theories. Please note, I am in the office Monday-Friday 9-3. I do not have evening hours. I generally return new client inquiries on Friday.

My counseling approach focuses on providing holistic, wellness-based care where we balance an exploration and deep understanding of your inner world with an energetic and emotional release of past pain and old patterns. I aim for every client to leave sessions feeling energized and in greater alignment with themselves and the world around them, as well as, a sense of fulfillment, balance, and peace. I utilize body-based and experiential techniques from a trauma-informed lens to address stuck energy and wounds from the past.

Many people come to therapy not knowing where to start, but they have a feeling - a feeling that maybe life could be better. They wonder if they could have a better relationship with themselves and then maybe with others. That they might be able to have more fun, feel safer, more secure; they wonder if they could feel more satisfied and happier. I specialize in working with individuals and couples from a holistic perspective, incorporating evidence-based modalities to support healing and growth. My practice is informed by the belief that healing occurs within the context of relationships. I approach therapy from a "person in the environment perspective". I help clients explore the dynamics within their families of origin and how these patterns continue to influence their current relationships and sense of self. We will also explore the importance of secure attachments in fostering emotional regulation and resilience.

I believe we all have the capacity to achieve loving, fulfilling relationships, but sometimes we get in our own way. Hello and Welcome! It has been a dream of mine to become a therapist since I was about 11 years old. Sexual health discussions have never made me uncomfortable in any way, and I like to provide a safe space for clients to discuss these issues. Many people experience shame about their relationship preferences, kinks, and sexual orientation. I like to help individuals and couples who may be struggling in this area. I also enjoy working with clients who are gender diverse, are thinking about or currently transitioning, and so forth.

Maybe you have difficulties communicating about relationships or sex. Lacking desire or skills in your relationship can be frustrating but there is hope. Respark Therapy has 8 therapists with flexible schedules and fees. All therapists are highly trained, confident professionals. Discussing intimacy is sometimes scary, especially if don't have the language to talk about it. Together we can work toward gaining confidence, rebuilding trust, and learning new techniques to light the fire.

As a counselor and former teacher, Alexandra enjoys helping clients envision their personal goals and facilitating progress and lasting growth. Alexandra primarily utilizes elements of CBT, Person-Centered, and Solution-Focused Therapy to address the specific needs of her clients. She believes in the importance of developing a collaborative counseling relationship that inspires, equips, and motivates clients to live their best life.

I work mostly with individuals seeking to heal from abusive relationships. Abusive relationships in childhood, adolescence, and/or adulthood can largely impact one's ability to connect with themselves and others. The world feels unsafe and many of the parts of you that have learned how to protect you may also be keeping you out of touch with everything around you. This work typically involves a combination of interventions to reconnect to your physical, psychological, and emotional self after having to abandon these parts in order to survive these relationships.

My counseling approach centers on my belief in the radical power of connection and the miracle of human potential. I've witnessed transformations that occur when embodying a heart-centered connection with my clients. In session, I will reflect your inner experience with skill, curiosity, and compassion and we'll shine a light on any shadows ready to be witnessed on the path to your authentic self. Do you need some help working through past experiences which are interfering with your life? Are you trying to navigate who you are? Whatever your reason is, I am here for you. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and Colorado with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver. I graduated in 2013 and have been in the counseling field since. My experience involves working with adolescents, families and adults for the past 10 years.

My hopes are to help school aged children and youth as well as their families overcome past or current traumas, work on attachment issues, and offer general support to all the curveballs life throws at us. I work well with children who have need help with emotional and behavioral regulation. I utilize interpersonal neurobiology, play therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy principles to help guide your child to a more regulated self! I offer parent coaching so you feel in the loop and support throughout your child's therapy process.

As a therapist, I work to create a safe and nurturing environment that allows for self-inquiry and for exploration of the many parts that make up our beings. Together, we can explore and build upon your existing strength and capabilities in order to cultivate greater happiness and fulfillment. We will also work to nurture and make peace with the parts of yourself that you may fear or dislike. I believe that each individual and family brings to therapy everything that they need to make change, and it is my privilege to help you discover those parts of yourself that may lie deep within.

Life seems harder for your child than others. Just getting through each day is a challenge. As you see your child struggle, you feel frustrated and drained. Maybe your family is stuck together in your child's hard place. The energy seems to flow to dealing with sadness, worry, or acting out. Once the situation seemed a passing phase, but more and more it feels like it will always be like this. You worry about where this is headed. It's time to find help for your child and your family.

Therapy is a partnership, and we will work collaboratively to achieve your goals. I believe in providing a compassionate and nonjudgmental space for you to process and grow. Everyone’s needs are different therefore I take a highly individualized approach when working with you. My background as a community organizer has also taught me that community care is self-care, and that social justice work is also healing work. Systemic oppression impacts our lives in many ways, and I invite you to unpack those issues in our sessions. Note: My practice is currently 100% virtual.

My style is interactive in helping to identify and resolve your issues. I feel that everyone has positive and negative ways of reacting to stress. I will work with you on finding healthy, creative outlets for your stress.I will help you to detach from unhealthy patterns in your relationships and your life. I believe in working with people from their strengths and starting where they are. I try to encourage my clients to improve their lives and to be happy with the choices they make.
