As a therapist my approach is person centered and focuses on the immediate needs of the client. My focus is to work collaboratively and alongside with you to help navigate and gain a better understanding of your emotions, past experiences, and most critical concerns. Our emotions can be strong and difficult to manage, in session we can focus on providing you the ability to practice emotion regulation, relaxation, mindfulness, and coping techniques.

My practice is primarily with adults, adolescents and families, who are struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, past trauma and life challenges. Life at times can be hard, and relationships take a lot of work. My mission is to empower my clients to find their inner strengths to lead a happier, more fulfilled life. I provide a relaxed, comfortable environment for my clients to share those things in life they would like to change. I am trained to offer you EMDR Therapy® for PTSD. I use a directive counseling approach, providing homework and guidance, with a multimodal approach to therapy.

I am Donna Shoop, a Licensed Profesional Counselor with twenty-two years of clinical experience. I have worked with individuals, adolescents, couples, parents, and families with Relationship Issues, Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, and Adolescent/Teens Issues. I use a combination of approaches which include Person-Centered Therapies, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief (SFBT). I will work with anyone who has a need and is willing to try new things to improve their life. I believe in working with a person where they are at the moment and helping them grow towards where they want to be.
