When humans experience trauma, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My great passion is bringing healing to people who have experienced trauma. I help my clients, who include children, adults and families, to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves.

For me, counseling is an exciting, yet challenging process with a goal of positive change. My name is Shomaya and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana and I love what I do. I have 12 years of experience in mental health working as a counselor, crisis therapist, counselor supervisor, and case manager. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, anger struggles, interpersonal problems and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences such as abuse or neglect.
