It's getting harder and harder not to argue in front of the kids. Or, not to argue at all. You are feeling resentful and annoyed with your partner and your negative reactions happen faster than ever before. Plus, you don't want to rock the boat and almost any conversation you have right now turns into an argument. It feels like the person lying next to you in bed is only a roommate and you are lonely. You thought things were getting better but then one more fight sent you back to square-one of feeling alone and distant from each other. You are no longer playing the waiting/hoping game and are looking for change.

When you think about how you've been acting and feeling recently, you're not quite sure you like the person you've become. All the struggles & conflicts you face with your partner, kids, family, co-workers keep you on overload, but you have no idea how you could handle them differently. You feel like your life is out of control, and you are ready to try anything that might help you to not completely fall apart and live in dread and overwhelm every day.

I work with Individuals and I am certified to lead psycho-educational groups. Individual treatment is in Office and Virtual and Goal oriented. Client's are encouraged to set a treatment goal and work toward that goal in subsequent sessions. I am a level 2 Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Clinician and utilize EMDR skills and techniques for desensitizing trauma and Breath work and Relaxation to minimize Stress and Trauma within sessions. I am a Brene' Brown Facilitator and use her literature and research to minimize shame and guilt issues around excess expectation.

For as long as you can remember, you’ve been singularly focused on your goals. Yet, no matter how much you achieve, it’s never enough. You always want more success and recognition. And, until now, you’ve been able to get it without much thought. But recently, you’ve been noticing how much you’ve been ignoring. Without even realizing it, you’ve sacrificed every other aspect of your life in favor of success. Friends have stopped calling because they know how busy you always are. Self-care has gone out the window – you eat poorly, don’t sleep, and never exercise. You are overcome with guilt and worry.

I have been personally affected by a high risk pregnancy, a traumatic birth and a NICU stay. That is what has led me to this work. For the past thirteen years, my work has been with perinatal mental health; specifically working with women with high risk pregnancies due to a congenital anomaly identified in their baby during pregnancy. I am here to help anyone that is struggling with feelings of angst and unrest about those unexpected challenges that are thrown your way. I have worked a great deal with perinatal and infant loss as well. I have a growing passion for helping women, specifically focusing on maternal mental health.

Throughout my career, I've worked with many people in difficult or painful situations. Many clients have dealt with issues like grief, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, job problems, life decisions, suicidal thoughts, and recovering from trauma. I have experience with folks who are curious or working through their gender identity, sexual orientation, fetishes, kinks, swinging, alternative sexuality, polyamory, ethical non monogamy, and lifestyle situations. I've also helped clients with out of control sexual behavior issues. I have worked with individual clients, couples clients, and polycules.

My general approach with working with clients for over 20 years is highly individualized, relational and strengthen based. I believe most clients simply need an environment to communicate, process feelings and gain insight in order to create a more fulfilling and meaningful life. I offer individual therapy for adolescents, adults and family therapy. My passion has always been treating eating disorders and the underlying causes such as depression and anxiety. Another clinical passion and area of focus has been assisting women and mothers with identity development and navigating life transitions.

I am glad to provide care to clients with a variety of presenting issues. I particularly value providing affirmative care to members of diverse communities, including the LGBTQIA+ community and people of color. My hope as a therapist is to help clients connect with their love and respect for themselves, as well as find new strategies for coping.
