Relationships require continued trust, communication, and deep awareness of each other’s worlds. I work with couples, including polyamorous, non-monogamous, kinky, etc., to build connection, trust, and intimacy in their relationships. I also help partners learn to manage conflict more effectively. I help partners find ways to communicate about difficult and sensitive issues. This is important when partners struggle to connect around each other's unique sexual wants and needs. These conversations need an atmosphere of trust, acceptance, and non-judgment, as partners learn to validate and respond to each other's sexual selves.

I've been working with adults and teens for over 47 years. My approach is empathic, direct, and thoughtful. Given I have a wide background in my training, I adapt my therapeutic approach to your needs. I find that effective therapy is a collaborative approach where we work together to understand your concerns, their origins and most importantly what can be done to bring about both the internal and behavioral changes that will be beneficial to you. My goal in therapy is to help integrate your shame and vulnerabilities into a healthy identity grounded in self-esteem and pride.

I am passionate about working with clients with non-traditional relationship structures or sexual interests (i.e. BDSM/kink, fetish, polyamorous, etc). I also enjoy helping clients discover where their sexual passions lie so they can have a more fulfilling sex life. I enjoy working with any sexual concern you may have including: Mismatched desire with your partner, low desire, sexual pain, sexual trauma, sexual dysfunctions, infidelity, etc. I welcome clients from all walks of life including those struggling with problematic sexual behavior ("sex addiction") and sex workers.

For more than 30 years I have counseled men, women, and teens addressing a crisis, a tragedy, something troubling they are struggling with now or from the past. My work with you will focus on developing your own skills to address current and past issues. Your work with me will be empowering and deliberate and will enable you to have a more fulfilling future. Our work together will include, but not necessarily be limited to consideration and assessments of how particular issues are affecting you and/or those you care about. You may bring a partner, friend, or family member to our sessions.
