As a Licensed Independent Social Worker, LISW, it is my goal to create a safe space to serve my clients that is free from discrimination, prejudice or fear. I specialize in assisting my clients through difficult life transitions, such as moving away from family, starting college, career changes, and others. I am also experienced in serving clients diagnosed with PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety.

Not all of us are given the book on how to have healthy and fulfilling relationships with others or ourselves. It takes courage to explore and share what we are struggling with and begin to write (or rewrite) our book on how we want to feel and be in the world. You deserve to experience connection, relief, and acceptance in order to feel secure enough to explore and take risks in life. My goal is to get curious about the blocks that keep you from experiencing those qualities and collaborate with you to remove them.

Still Waters has an individualized substance abuse program focusing on individual's strengths, needs, experiences & goals. This gives clients a deeper, more meaningful experience versus one-size-fits-all rehab programs that funnel clients into their most profitable addiction programs (e.g., Intensive Outpatient Treatment). Still Waters is the only licensed program that has a holistic mind-body-spirit approach to addiction, in Eastern Iowa, founded on faith-based, Christian principles, while respecting everyone regardless of their beliefs or faith.

Being stuck in an emotional tornado with no end is devastating. The past year+ has been full of hurt, fear, loss, and the unexpected... to say the least. You end up feeling lost, unsure of yourself, your relationships, your job, your whole world. You end up feeling alone, feeling a hole in your body that can't or is refusing to be filled, feeling like shit at the end of most days. Sometimes you see a glimmer of hope... yet you doubt it's real.

I focus on self-compassion, shame reduction, and distress tolerance. My goal is to support you to reach a greater acceptance of self, facilitate healing, and improve quality of life. Taking the first step to attend therapy can be anxiety provoking. I focus on client's needs to help them reach their goals.

I believe that everyone's capable of experiencing an emotionally healthy and fulfilling life regardless of their unique circumstance. With therapy to find insight into past pain and trauma, wounds old and new can be healed, and tools can be discovered to deal with present and future challenges. My clients are ready to be the agents of change in their lives through their personal growth instead of waiting for the world around them to change. I believe that through therapy with me, individuals have the innate wisdom and courage that can be discovered to find their best paths forward with compassion for self and others.

I have experience working with many mental health concerns and I am passionate about working with people struggling with anxiety and OCD, as well as supporting people in the LGBTQ+ community. My work focuses on helping people navigate challenges using their extensive knowledge of themselves and the skills and abilities they have developed over their lives. I believe my clients are the experts on themselves and work collaboratively to help them discover what works best for them.

Angie specializes in depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, suicidal thoughts, adjustment related stressors and self-harm. Angie uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques to help empower clients to overcome their underlying thoughts and beliefs. Angie’s approach to counseling is strengths-based, patient-centered and goal oriented.

Everyone deserves a safe place to express their emotions, find the inner strength needed to make fulfilling change and be their best self. I believe that no two people experience life the same way and I will work with you to develop a treatment plan that works best for your needs and goals in a compassionate and judgment-free space.
