I believe in having a safe place to tell one’s story. The counseling journey begins with providing an environment in which you feel comfortable, supported, accepted, and understood. This then paves the path to work on complex issues such as anxiety, depression, relationships, grief, life transitions, etc. I hope to help you work towards growth, personal fulfillment, and to gain a better understanding of yourself and others. I’ve worked with diverse populations in the mental health field for over ten years and received my master’s degree in counseling at Oakland University.

Strive Recreational Therapy is here to serve those who have permanent disabilities that require special attention to get the most out of life. We also assist with rehabilitation efforts for those with short-term disabilities due to an accident or injury. We serve those with traumatic brain injuries, anyone catastrophically injured in an auto-related accident, those permanently or partially injured in a work-related accident, those with mental health issues, Veterans, anyone with a disability, and those with autism or other developmental disabilities.

I believe all limitations are self-imposed; therefore, my mission is to help clients discover and or rediscover their unique way of operating in this world. Helping them celebrate and activate their uniqueness so they can be guided towards fulfillment. I have been providing specialized services for clients and their families for over 30 years. It has been my honor to serve in numerous roles advancing the mission of improving the quality of life for individuals experiencing life difficulties due to mental health, emotional health, or behavioral issues.

My goal is to help you work through challenges in your life by encouraging you to explore and discuss these concerns. We will develop goals to work towards change in this process. I work with adults, children, families, and couples. We can process a range of problems including career struggles, depression, anxiety, grief, ineffective coping skills, and relationship problems to name a few.

Every counselor has a different approach, personality, and feel. Good counseling usually means there is a good fit between you and your therapist. So, it’s important that you feel comfortable talking to me. I try to create a connection where you feel accepted, understood, and supported. Once we’re comfortable together, talking about complicated things (anger, depression, anxiety, relationships) becomes a lot easier. Some people may feel comfortable right away. Some take time to get there. I hope to talk about what’s important to you and hopefully do something about it.

I meet clients where they are and listen to their concerns with non-judgment. I have been practicing since 2015 and have a LMSW and CAADC.

I have over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health and I have learned over the years, that my clients are often my greatest teachers. I believe in meeting people where they are and working with my clients to create a treatment plan that is suited to their unique needs. In addition to individual therapy, I also provide psychological testing/evaluation services. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. My ultimate goal is to offer compassionate, experienced treatment that provides my clients with practical strategies and tools they can easily use to promote healing in their own life.
