As a licensed professional counselor, my goal is to help individuals, couples, and families identify areas where change is needed to enhance growth, harmony, and balance in their lives. I take a holistic approach to therapy by incorporating a variety of therapeutic modalities into my practice including CBT, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Imago Therapy, DBT, Mindfulness Based Therapy (i.e., meditation, guided imagery, deep breathing), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Hypnotherapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and Animal Assisted Therapy.

I enjoy inviting people to therapeutic spaces to speak about the issues and challenges that are important to them. I consider the therapeutic space a sacred, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where people can share their stories, joys, celebrations, challenges, and struggles in life. Malakeia Scott -Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 8 + years of experience in social work. A graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a Masters degree in Social Work. Her career began with counseling adolescents and teens with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. She has worked as a hospice social worker providing clients and their families with emotional support, resources and navigating end-of-life care. She has also served as a Therapeutic Support Specialist with the Division of Children and Family State Office Unit, serving youth in the child welfare system, and clients adjusting to life on dialysis.
