My goal is to gain a thorough understanding of strengths and challenges, in order to provide diagnostic clarity as well as appropriate recommendations so that you can reach your full potential. I see the assessment process as therapeutic in nature. As such, I strive to develop strong relationships with individuals, and families so that together, we can advocate for you or your child's learning and social-emotional needs.

I am a counselor working with clients ranging in age from adolescents to adults. I work with clients focusing on a variety of areas such as anxiety, depression, navigating relationships, neurodivergence, life transitions, and with those who are feeling lost in life.

My therapeutic style is empathetic, energetic, relatable, approachable, and passionate. I know therapy can be scary, so I try to create a safe and positive environment. Clients will feel that I’m truly in their corner while not shying away from pointing out blind spots to aid in their growth. My ideal patient is someone who truly wants to break cycles, heal, and do the work to feel better holistically.

Therapeutically, Stan uses the metaphor that life is like a hiking trail. It has ups and downs, easy stretches and difficult inclines, rewarding sights, and gut-wrenching days when it feels like the rain is following us specifically. Using a mixture of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Constructivist Narrative Therapy, Stan works alongside his client, not only to understand patterns of behavior and how to adjust them, but also to dive deeper and uncover the strength and resilience every human is capable of.

I am a licensed psychologist with over 28 years of experience in providing counseling and psychological evaluations including forensic, sexual trauma, and psychosexual evaluations. I work with children, teens, and adults to help them cope with issues such as depression, anxiety, divorce, behavioral problems, sexual concerns, and trauma. I am a certified clinical trauma professional. I also serve as the Director of Medlin Treatment Center, a counseling center with 19 therapists on staff. If I'm not available or the best fit, I can refer you to another therapist in my office. I can practice via telehealth in 40 states.

My perspective is that life is complicated and it's easy to get lost along the way as we face our own struggles like fear, insecurity, shame and worry. If we keep those struggles in the dark, they'll only take root and trip us up and make us start to forget truth.
