I see the assessment process as therapeutic in nature. As such, I strive to develop strong relationships with individuals, and families so that together, we can advocate for you or your child's learning and social-emotional needs.

As an experienced therapist, I have dealt with a broad range of mental health issues. I work with a network of physicians, mental health providers, and spiritual advisors to provide the best care for my clients. I aim to guide clients in asking the right questions and finding answers that lead to positive and progressive outcomes in the therapeutic process. While my primary focus is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I employ other techniques as needed to help my clients achieve the change they desire.

My perspective is that life is complicated and it's easy to get lost along the way as we face our own struggles like fear, insecurity, shame and worry. If we keep those struggles in the dark, they'll only take root and trip us up and make us start to forget truth. It's only by bringing those dark places into the light that those roots can vanish and we can see truth and grow in ways we could never imagine. It's my joy to partner with others through that process and remove the stigma in seeking help.

Many people come to counseling feeling stuck in certain behaviors, relational patterns, or emotional cycles, perhaps without even understanding why, or without hope of lasting change. I founded Melanin Mommy Therapy with Black Women at the forefront. As a Black Women, we often identify with the feeling of failing when in reality, we are dealing with stress, anxiety, depression and so much more. Many people may look at the Black Woman and automatically place her at the bottom of the totem pole and I say that is because we as Black Women are the foundation of so much. We carry so much on our shoulders while being told to be strong and pray on it.
