I have worked on the field of psychology for more than 20 years, first as an undergraduate student in University of Havana, Cuba, then Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona, Spain and finally in Atlanta, Georgia, where I completed my internship and postdoctoral studies at Emory University. As part of my training and the last 11 years in private practice, I have had the privilege of working with very diverse and culturally different populations. This has given me the opportunity to see human experience from a much broader and deeper perspective. I have served the Hispanic community since 2008. I am licensed in Georgia and Florida.
In my daily work as a therapist I strive to see my clients not only in the context of their immediate relationships but rather in relation to their personal history, family structure and the influence of the surrounding environment and the issues that affect their functioning.
I love my work with families and helping parents to deal with the challenges of raising emotionally healthy children. I feel a strong passion in helping my adult clients to find the meaning in their lives, to recover their self-confidence and to better understand and resolve challenges in life.
