As a former Division I Athlete and US National Team Member, I believe that one of the bravest things we can do is learning how to love ourselves through the process of owning our own storying. Often times the first brave step is just reaching out. Society tends to view therapy as something you need if you have “failed” on your own. However, I tend to think the counseling process is one where we invite someone else to walk alongside us on our journey of figuring out who we are. I believe that as humans we are designed for relationship, and we aren’t intended to do and figure it all out alone.
In working together I want to provide you a safe space to show up exactly as you are. We may spend time unpacking your past and connecting it to present life struggles. Other times we may dive into the depths of who you are, equip you with skills and education, or pause to celebrate the victories and successes in life.
Regardless of what you are experiencing, my office has an open door. My hope for each of you is when you leave my office is that you will have a better understanding of not only who you are but how you came to be the person you are today. In time you will have compassion for all parts of you, even if you currently are struggling to love those parts.
