I have experience in trauma-informed addiction counseling, as well as working with teens and adults with depression, anxiety, and life transition issues. I am also currently training in EMDR.

I emphasize a person-centered, humanistic counseling approach when working alongside clients on their journeys.

I am uniquely qualified and trained in the field of addiction and especially enjoy working with those who are suffering from addictive disease. As a helping professional for over 25 years I have gained tremendous appreciation for the human spirit and one’s ability to strive for and experience positive change. I believe we all have difficulties to overcome throughout our lives no matter who we are, and change is possible if it is desired. My ideal client is someone that is motivated for change, is willing to engage in honest self-assessment, and understands that insight is necessary but not sufficient for real and lasting results.

I am Amanda Prior a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I have experience working with at risk youth, children, adults, families, and couples. My experience has been working in a residential setting as well as private practice. I have completed my education and continue training to work on a professional level to help you. In addition, I too have had my own challenges and life experiences so I know how difficult working on ourselves can be. I have a deep appreciation for the courage that it takes to seek help and to start therapy. Talking about our feelings, experiences and thoughts can be extremely hard.

You wanted to have a lasting relationship with your partner and it did not work out. Now you have to be able to deal and heal while co-parenting your children. Your life has taken a turn that you did not foresee and you are having trouble handling the stress, changes, and fluctuation of emotions that come with the transitions while having to muster up the courage to effectively co-parent with your ex-partner. I want to meet parents where they are and help them heal while helping them focus on solutions and offering flexible was work through these challenges via online, video, or phone.

I help couples work through marital conflicts and help them achieve a relationship based on trust, security, mutual empathy and deeper levels of connection. I also work with individuals struggling with histories of trauma such as sexual, physical or emotional abuse. In addition, I help men who struggle with compulsive sexual behaviors, anxieties, depression, and/or obsessive thoughts. I encourage clients to explore their past in order to identify patterns that are affecting their current relationships and personal goals. I provide a safe place to share personal struggles and work toward change. Upon request, I provide a Christian approach.

Deborah Brehm is a Licensed Professional Counselor and trainer of Etiotropic Trauma Management. She has a Specialists Degree in psychological trauma from Georgia State University. In 2022 she moved her practice to Cumming, GA. Her passion for trauma led her to Etiotropic Trauma Management with its clinical component Trauma Resolution Therapy, ETM TRT(c) she has completed an intense study program to become a trainer, in January, 2008 was certified as a trainer of ETM TRT(c)
