Are you struggling with barriers (whether past or present) to creating the life you want? Have you been talking to therapists over the years with little change? Or have the feeling that your words are covering over rather than opening up? I work with adults from an expressive point of view. My focus is on helping you to find a sense of order and meaning from inner chaos. Together we will explore what has gone on in your life, where you want to go, and what is keeping you from doing this with ease. I welcome the opportunity to accompany you, support, and respectfully witness your process.
I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, with issues of trauma, depression, anxiety, creative blocks, acculturation, and chronic illness. I believe in the past informing the present and using your strengths to create a future of your own choice. I cannot claim allyship; I can only show you over time my profound belief in my role as collaborator.
My training is in art therapy, developmental psychology, psychoanalysis, and sociology. Creativity is not a rare talent: It is a resource we all use daily to solve problems and move through life. I work at the intersection of emotions, ideas, images, and words, recognizing the real world and it's challenges. Call or email for an initial session.

Recovering from past trauma is complex, it will take time, but it won't take forever to feel differently. We will start where you are at and what your history is. This will help to identify the most immediate need for your relief as you work toward healing. I offer specific approaches to ameliorate some initial issues allowing the deeper work to be accessible.

The dynamic approach assumes the unconscious. We endeavor to make links between the known and the unknown. Your first session we set the stage for the addressing your struggles; each session weaves in what is present and what may be influencing your efforts to move forward. The body and mind are not separate, thus attention is paid to your whole self.
