I'm a licensed and board certified psychologist (ABBP-Counseling) specializing in individual therapy with adults in Boston, MA. I earned the Ed. D in Counseling Psychology at the UMASS-Amherst in 1980 and have been a licensed & practicing psychologist since 1981. I earned the MFA (Creative Writing, Literature & Publishing) from Emerson College-'94. It's challenging to work with people who are eager to express their creativity. My nearly 30 years as a forensic psychologist affords me insights to help those coping with legal issues, grief, loss, relationship and career stress.

Currently I only have Wednesday openings available! I am a therapist with a warm and humorous style. My practice focuses on supporting people living with anxiety, chronic illness, life transitions, or grief who choose to not worry alone. I teach people how to regulate stress and reframe experiences. I help people with brain, violence-related injuries or neurological diseases build a more compassionate relationship with difficult emotions and ignite a new sense of meaning.

I work with individuals and/or families who struggle to find hope, balance or freedom from fear in its many forms. I enjoy creating a strong connection with my clients and cater my sessions towards their needs and ways of learning. Reconnection, energy, feeling heard & understood, finding clarity - these are things we all strive for, and often need to rediscover, or recreate, from time to time. Sometimes we feel overwhelmed by the "muck" & need another pair of eyes for a change of perspective or to help create a new experience. As the master of your own life, I work in collaboration with you to determine your needs and goals. Using a casual, cooperative style validates your experience, and empowers you to find clarity and create change for yourself, and/or your family.

I am a humanistic, certified sex therapist with a sharp wit, a generous dose of humor, and an intense but kind focus on core issues. Some of my clients are working toward feeling more connected in their relationships. Some are working to heal from traumas of the past. Most are looking for an expert therapist, who having tried multiple therapists, need a more comprehensive, philosophically grounded, deeper, and richer experience of self-exploration and healing. My goal is for my clients to experience a connection they may have never felt that helps them build insight, understanding, and the courage and power to heal and grow.

In our therapy space—we will explore terrains of mountaintop and abyss, reflect on the past, present and future, and witness moments of epiphany, agony, and perhaps transformative insights. Life is an adventurous journey deserving of our attention and time, especially in critical moments such as loss, transitions, and unknowns.

The main focus of my work is helping couples recapture the relationship that is slipping away or has been broken by betrayal, disagreement, anger or lack of caring. I am also a divorce coach and parent coordinator. I work with individuals, couples and adult families, in a variety of modalities, to make life the best it can be.

Accepting New Clients via Telehealth! Anxiety, depression and relationship issues are common experiences that can impact our ability to feel like ourselves and live at our best capacity. Often these issues are rooted in hard life experiences or the accumulating stressors of today's world. Working from a person-centered and solution-focused approach I support my clients by helping them find connections between their feelings, thoughts and actions. I strive to create powerful therapeutic relationships as I believe this is the foundation of a successful healing alliance.

Sometimes life's many challenges can get in the way of us remembering how to deeply connect with ourselves, and as a result we can feel untethered and lost. Therapy can help us recommit to a path forward and to feel empowered to trust our own intuition and judgment. Therapy should feel purposeful and collaborative, and this philosophy shapes my work with clients.

Grounded and raised in a Chinese immigrant and Vietnamese refugee family, my roots and experiences have amplified my passion to address care in communities of color. The complexities of juggling responsibilities as a student, employee, caregiver. etc., can be super exhausting and I'm here to say that I see you! You are more than just a person embedded in an institution and your emotionality is cared for.
