I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing individual therapy for adults as well as couples and families. My areas of focus are with past traumas, abuse, addictions, eating disorders, body image concerns, self-harming behaviors, abandonment, Bipolar Disorder, obsessive compulsive disorders, anxiety, and loss. My other areas of concentration are marriage counseling, the challenges of parenting, sibling conflicts, infidelity, and conflict resolution skills. I offer pre-marital counseling focusing on the transition into marriage, establishing effective communication skills, hearing/understanding partner perspective, assumptions made about partner's thoughts/experiences, and how the couple can approach challenges life may bring to their relationships.
I conduct client-centered sessions emphasizing the importance of the therapeutic relationship as one of the main elements of recovery and change. I believe empowering clients to gain hope, healing and self-awareness through education, improved communication skills, behavioral changes can lead to personal growth and self-acceptance.
I received my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the College of St. Benedict in Minnesota and holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University in Illinois. I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Eden Prairie Minnesota.
