My client centered therapeutic approach combines elements of CBT, Internal Family Systems, and attachment theory.
(EMDR trained) Life is rarely easy, yet finding a space to process this, without judgement, is hard to find. My aim is to offer a secure environment where clients feel free to express themselves authentically and fully. Central to my practice is fostering acceptance while gently challenging negative core beliefs and thought patterns through evidence based interventions.

I treat individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma using a variety of therapeutic tools including Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Mindfulness, and EMDR.
I have over 20 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families achieve their therapy goals. My personal therapeutic philosophy is that emotional healing takes place when you address the well-being of the whole person - Mind, Body, and Soul. There is nothing better than seeing an individual caught in the grip of anxiety and depression, find lasting relief; or a couple on the brink of divorce transform into a healthy, loving relationship; or someone finding peace and healing from lifelong childhood-trauma.

I use a person-centered approach with CBT, TF- CBT, and EMDR.
Are you struggling to make sense of ‘all the things’ that are happening in life? Maybe you struggle with the million thoughts that you just can’t seem to make sense. Do you sometimes feel like you’re hanging on by a thread but are afraid to reach out to your loved ones because you are the one who holds everyone together? Maybe you’ve experienced some significant or traumatic events and need help processing these situations. Or maybe you need someone to help your child navigate the day-to-day stressors of life.

I incorporate biblical based psychotherapies like CBT and teach my clients how God wired our brain and ways that cause it to heal (neuroplasticity).
Being born into a broken world can bring traumatic life experiences leaving us feeling, hopeless and lost. As a Pastoral Counselor, Mental Health Coach and Life Coach, I strive to provide the best Biblically sound holistic care available. I enjoy teaching my clients about their unique strengths, providing a non-judgmental, confidential and peaceful atmosphere, while setting attainable goals conducive for growth. As an out of network provider I do not take insurance. However, I offer a reduced rate/sliding scale fee for those with limited finances. In most cases this is the same or slightly better than your insurance copay.

Let's work together and build up your strategies to manage life's stressors. Different seasons of life offer unique challenges to us all. I like to think of a session with me as us walking together talking and building on your strengths while discussing any new learning opportunities or challenging situations that have crossed your path. Life can be hard and no one should have to feel as if they have to take this walk alone. My ideal clients are far from perfect and are still more than good enough. I specialize in depression, anxiety, and trauma. I enjoy helping others with healthy conflict resolution skills.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists

How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?

Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?

It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?

To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?

CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
