You may appear to have everything together on the outside while quietly feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected inside. Patterns involving alcohol or substances may have begun to take a greater toll than intended, alongside trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or life transitions. Many people I work with want to better understand themselves and move beyond patterns that no longer serve them. In a compassionate, collaborative space, we slow things down, explore what may be keeping you stuck, and build practical tools that support healing, recovery, and meaningful forward movement.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or carrying experiences that still live in your body, you’re not broken — you’re responding to what you’ve lived through. I work with children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma, including childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, military sexual trauma (MST), adverse childhood experiences, and chronic stress. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, emotional dysregulation, self-criticism, trust, or feeling constantly on edge. Others feel numb, exhausted, or unsure how to feel safe again.

I want to help you by offering a non-judgmental, warm and accepting atmosphere where you can voice your concerns, fears, and feelings that you are experiencing. Confusion, depression, anger and sadness are some of the reasons people come in to therapy. They have doubts about their own feelings, thoughts and sometimes identity, which results in lowered self esteem and a lack of personal motivation. Therapy won't change who you are, it improves who you already are, leading to self acceptance and peace.

Our world is continuing to change “We are dealing with collective loss of the world we knew”… ”This is grief.” David Kessler, MD. As we acknowledge these changes, we may find ourselves sad, anxious, irritable, and lonely. The external disconnection and stress we are experiencing in the environment may mirror our own internal experiences. Depression, anxiety, and relationship issues often accompany drastic changes.

Sometimes we feel like we are broken into a million pieces. Looking at the pieces feels overwhelming and exhausting. It feels like we can't do this on our own but we don't want to be a burden on others. Having someone help put the pieces back together helps us feel more whole. Healing starts with a helping hand. Don't feel like you can not change or that you are too broken to be helped. Nobody is too broken, we just haven't learned how to heal in a healthy way. I am a Licensed Therapist with 7+ years of experience and I am formally trained in EMDR. I look at the root cause of our distress and what made us who we are. We can heal.

I accept major insurance plans, including BCBS, Medicaid, and HCH, to ensure this deep healing remains accessible.
When life feels completely overwhelming, it’s hard to even understand what the real problem is. You just know you’re exhausted. You find yourself snapping at loved ones, surviving sleepless nights, emotional eating, or swinging between intense irritability and total numbness. Many of your decisions feel driven by a deep, underlying fear. You’ve tried everything to fix it—maybe you’ve even experienced inpatient care—yet the heavy patterns keep repeating. It feels unfair, like you're carrying a weight that doesn't belong to you. You aren't crazy for feeling stuck; you are likely holding onto generational cycles that no longer serve.

You’re standing at a crossroads, and it’s exhausting. A major life change, a career shift, move, relationship ending, or new chapter has left you feeling anxious, uncertain, and disconnected from yourself. You’ve always been the strong one, the fixer, the person others rely on. But lately, your thoughts spiral, your confidence wavers, and your inner critic has gotten louder. You feel stuck between who you’ve been and who you want to be, unsure how to take the next step. You need someone on your team – a collaborator – to keep you focused on what matters and offer you resources as you connect to your inner wisdom.

BlueCross and BlueShield Therapists
Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
