My name is Rena (sounds like henna) and I'm happy you've found me today. I've been a therapist since 2017 and provide a challenging yet compassionate touch with my clients. Client who are a good fit with me are individuals who are ready to dig deep and truly heal. Many clients' feel confused to why they are functioning the way they are, and this is understandable! The mind is confusing, so psychoeducation is another important component of our sessions. My knowledge is your knowledge, and I plan to continue to grow in this field...in this life...every day.

It is exhausting to feel tangled up in your own thoughts, constantly fighting your past, your anxieties, or the expectations of everyone around you. I believe therapy isn’t about fixing what is 'broken'; it’s about understanding the complex parts of who you are, practicing deep self-compassion, and rewriting the narratives that no longer serve you. Together, we will create a safe, down-to-earth space to step out of the struggle and into a life guided by meaning and psychological flexibility.

Let’s skip the cliché therapy line about “what brought you here today” and get to the part where I say I’m genuinely glad you’re here. Starting therapy can feel uncomfortable but choosing to prioritize yourself matters. I work with adults navigating dysfunctional family dynamics, trauma, anxiety, and bipolar or borderline patterns, couples wanting healthier communication/connection, and first responders carrying the pressure and emotional weight that comes with the job. My approach is engaged, honest, and direct, while still making space for you to feel comfortable being fully human in the room. I offer telehealth across Oklahoma.

As a compassionate and client-centered therapist, I work with a diverse range of individuals, including children (ages 9–18) and adults. I approach therapy with the belief that my clients are the experts on their own lives. My role is to support them in navigating life’s challenges and provide a safe, empathetic space where they feel heard and understood—not to "fix" them, but to walk alongside them in their journey.

Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapists
How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.

What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.

How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.

How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
