Using a blend of CBT and ACT, I help clients better understand themselves, clarify what’s most important to them, and make choices that align with the life they want to live.
I am a secular therapist and take your privacy seriously (opted out of OK HIE, no AI use in session). I really enjoy working with adolescent girls, first-generation high achievers or their teen/adult children, and those ready to examine which "family traditions" to keep or toss. Child therapy is available at times with strict guardian expectations.

My goal as a therapist is to help others become the best version of themselves. I work with and support my clients to achieve mental and emotional well-being while discovering themselves. Too often, we shy away from help because we are ashamed, afraid, or don't understand the process. I believe everyone can benefit from time in therapy and become the author of their own story.

I understand many life experiences can leave one unable to cope and rebound from their effects. I provide techniques to promote healing from life's traumatic events, in order for you to get back to enjoying life. I use trauma-informed techniques such as 'flash technique', 'progressive counting', and hypnotherapy to assist in identifying and processing trauma. These are valid and reliable techniques that provide faster processing and healing than most others.

It’s all about the mind. The mind is everything. The fantastic news is we can train our minds to go where WE want to go, mentally, emotionally and relationally, rather than allowing our brain to take us where IT wants to go. You can become your best friend, be less self critical, more self aware, having healthy communication with yourself and others. Western and Eastern psychologies, philosophies and other worldviews are explored with you through psychotherapy and mental health counseling. In TX I also offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, a type of Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy through Journey Clinical. I'm licensed n TX & OK

You are overwhelmed, exhausted and stressed. Feeling normal again is the goal. Keeping it all in is no longer working and you know its time to talk to someone. You might feel so heavy, anything you do, feels like running a marathon. Maybe your thoughts are racing so fast you have a difficult time focusing on one task. Your loved ones may think you have it all together but inside you are screaming for help. It may seem embarrassing but you know you cannot continue experiencing the overwhelming feeling of uneasiness.

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Many people struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, relationship challenges, perfectionism, or past experiences that continue to impact them in ways they don’t fully understand. Therapy provides a safe, supportive space to explore what’s happening beneath the surface so you can move forward with greater clarity and purpose. In our work together, we’ll look at how your relationships, life experiences, and internal patterns shape the way you think, feel, and respond to the world, supporting insight, self-compassion, and meaningful change.

Since becoming a therapist in 2007, I have been providing both mental health and substance abuse therapy services. I assist clients by helping them challenge disruptive thoughts and behaviors and sitting with them as they set goals to create the future they desire to achieve. During the therapeutic process, you are able to work through past and present problems that may be holding you back in relationships, at work, and in other important life situations. Making changes and processing emotions in a non-judgmental environment can improve your ability to sustain lasting life changes and deepen personal and professional relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists
How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?
Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
