These years have allowed me to obtain a lot of tools that we can use together to help you live your best life! I specialize in miscarriage grief, postpartum depression, life transitions, depression, anxiety, adolescent issues, life planning, and women's issues .
We've all heard phrases like, "Pull yourself up by your bootstraps!" or "You have a lot to be thankful for!" Often times these phrases are more hurtful than helpful. They make you feel alone and unsure if what you're feeling is real. I love being able to help my clients realize that they're not alone, their feelings are valid, and that they do matter. When you make the steps to seek help. You are not weak, you are BRAVE!

I love working with teens and adults, and provide treatment for issues including anxiety, depression, relationships, women's issues , LGBTQ, and trauma, including religious trauma.
Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes and its effects show up in our bodies, relationships, and patterns of behavior. Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in these patterns, resulting in anxiety, depression, or disconnection. Do the strategies you've adopted to survive no longer serve you? If you're ready to unlearn conditioned patterns of belief and show up as your most authentic self, I would love to hold space for you. I provide a safe space to show up as your most authentic self, to feel and express difficult emotions, and to navigate daily life situations. Every day is a new opportunity to create the life you want and deserve.

I have most experience working with symptoms of trauma, anxiety, & depression. I most enjoy working with clients between the ages 13-45. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, & compassion, regardless of background. Working with those who are from more marginalized populations & concerns related to these areas (LGBTQIA+ populations, women's issues , religious trauma, racism, physical health concerns/ disabilities, etc.) is a passion of mine, but I am happy to work with those who are not part of these populations as well. I will tailor our treatment plan to meet your specific needs. -Ask about my student discount!-

I am a Clinical Psychologist who values working with diverse individuals representing a variety of presenting concerns. We will work together to find what fits with your needs, strengths, and goals. I attend to the fact that life experiences, environment, and circumstances all shape our understanding of ourselves, of others, and of the world around us. My approach honors that growth occurs through relationship and connection with others, and I attend to these elements to help you create change in your life. Helping clients understand the roots of their concerns while also assisting with symptom reduction is important to me.

I am passionate about helping people improve their relationships with themselves and the world around them. I believe our relationships are one of the most important things we can care for, including the relationship we have with ourselves. When we learn to walk authentically in our own identity, we can better embrace those around us as well. Whatever is holding you back from fully enjoying the world around you, my hope is to help you find freedom and healing from those things.

As Brené Brown says, “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” I believe my job as a therapist is to come alongside individuals and families and help them come alive. We all deserve the opportunity to be the best that we can be, and I am honored to share that experience with my clients.

Women's Issues Therapists

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?

Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?

As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?

Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
