Life is too short to be weighed down by unhealthy relationships, unresolved grudges, or lingering trauma .
Life is filled with challenges, but therapy doesn’t have to be one of them. The therapy process is sometimes seen as one-sided, with you feeling disconnected and without a chance to really engage. I can say that I see you for you, and I want to help you find the solutions and life changes you’re looking for! Calling a therapist can feel daunting, but I hope you’ll take a moment (and maybe a deep breath!) and call and see how I can be of help.

I also have specialized training in trauma called EMDR and in couples counseling called Emotion Focused Couples therapy.
Each of us struggles with something. Some of us struggle with worry and obsessive thinking, others with moodiness or depression, some with hurtful relationships or a painful past, and still others with a serious illness or the death of a loved one. The good news is there is hope. Let me show you how to get relief from your symptoms and freedom from your pain so you can experience greater contentment and joy. I am a kind, non-judgmental listener who truly wants the best for you.

Through EMDR, adults with past trauma and postpartum struggles get to the "why" of your feelings.
Does it seem like you’ve resolved to this being “as good as it gets”? Are you struggling with healing or feeling like your past just won’t let go? Are you struggling with past abuse, neglect, or toxic relationships that have resulted in lasting anxiety, depression, or negative thoughts about yourself? Have you tried to solve these problems on your own and realize you need help from someone? If you answered yes then you have made the right choice by being here. Seeking help can be hard. You’ve likely been debating seeking help for months, years, or feel like steps you've tried didn't work. You don't have to do it all alone.

I have special experience in EMDR- trauma therapy.
In therapy, I strive to create an environment where every client feels seen, heard & understood. Therapy is a place where you can come & there are no expectations of you. I want to walk alongside you and be a support for whatever you need. Those areas can include: developing new mental health tools to improve quality of life, exploring hard issues, creating a healthier family or relationship dynamic, processing trauma through EMDR, conquering anxiety or OCD through ERP, grieving past experiences or relationships or simply a place to learn more about yourself.

I have advanced training to treat issues related to attachment, relationships, sex, anxiety, depression, trauma , substance abuse and growing up in a dysfunctional family.
With over a decade of experience, I specialize in helping clients create secure, healthy attachments to their loved ones and with themselves. Most of my clients are what I call, "cycle breakers." They are highly successful people who want to strengthen their mental heath and relationships. I do this through Emotionally Focused Therapy and the method of re-parenting, which is a way of giving oneself what they needed as a child and allows them to break unhealthy patterns.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
