As a Marriage and
Family Therapist
, I help my clients by connecting the dots between their past and present selves.
Sometimes we just need an objective, non-judgmental and unbiased person to HEAR us. So often we have been taught or have developed patterns of behaviors for survival and adaptation that as we mature we find are no longer serving the person we are aspiring to become. Whether you find yourself struggling with anger management, anxiety, boundaries, depression, life transitions, relationships (
family
and intimate), and personal goal attainment, I can help you identify and break the patterns that are preventing you from becoming your ideal self.

What stops you? What moves you forward? What keeps you stuck? All the answers to these questions are more than likely patterns of behavior learned somewhere in the past. For me, the past informs the present. It is eye opening to come to that awareness. What if I told you that the resolution for your life lies in the problem? Would you be willing to navigate that to see if it has any truth? I have experience working with people who deal with relationship/
family
issues, trauma, depression, unresolved grief, addiction, anxiety, loss, and life transitions. Let's look together to see what new perspective might be waiting for you.

I am a caring professional with great empathy for the difficulty individuals are facing during these times. People have been adversely impacted in multiple areas of their lives. There is concerning insecurity with employment, finances, and meeting basic needs. Social and
family
stability has been effected painfully. Many individuals are now facing an impasse with how to manage feelings of unprecented anxiety, depression and turmoil Sadly it feels as if the end of this is uncertain and too easy to enter feelings of helplessness on how to effectively cope. I can help you and
family
restore your confidence and renew your hope to heal.

I have worked several years in both inpatient and outpatient care with teenagers and adults in individual and
family
settings.
"Know thyself," said Socrates along with every wise person before and after him. I take it as axiomatic that each person is a complex web of experiences, desires, fears, joys, strengths, and weaknesses forged in one's unique history, biology, and current life circumstances. This means that each individual's road to mental health is particular to them and lies within them; of course, finding this road is easier said than done. It is my deep honor to work alongside my clients on their personal journey, helping them arrive at the life they want to live.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
