Understanding how we feel can be an immense struggle. Sometimes it’s hard to find the energy or we feel lost in our patterns. Our day to day life might feel increasingly insurmountable. Our relationships might feel disconnected, wounding, or painful. Sometimes we just want relief. As your therapist, I will work alongside you to create an accepting and challenging space where you can find that relief through healing and growth.

I am a Clinical Psychologist who values working with diverse individuals representing a variety of presenting concerns. We will work together to find what fits with your needs, strengths, and goals. I attend to the fact that life experiences, environment, and circumstances all shape our understanding of ourselves, of others, and of the world around us. My approach honors that growth occurs through relationship and connection with others, and I attend to these elements to help you create change in your life. Helping clients understand the roots of their concerns while also assisting with symptom reduction is important to me.

How on earth do you choose a great therapist? Seriously, I mean...look at the hundreds of wonderful therapists on this site! Picking a therapist can be intimidating, but don't let it daunt you! Studies continually show that, for therapy to be "successful," there needs to be a strong relationship between you and your therapist. That's it. Really. Skill and competency are important-yes-but a therapist's expertise won't shine through if you don't trust them.

As a therapist I strongly value mental health and wellbeing. It is important for all of us to take care of ourselves, whether we’re dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health issues. It is also important for us to find support and build a community that can help us become our best self. Seeking out counseling is a major step in addressing your own mental health concerns, learning more about yourself, and taking charge of your life.

Is everything “too much” and “not enough” and “literally you can’t even” and “you don’t know” and “maybe you should talk to someone”, but also “you feel like you should be able to handle it on your own so forget it”? Okay, well, first, just because you CAN handle it on your own, doesn’t mean you have to. That’s where I come in. I believe that you can handle it too. And sometimes, when it feels like life has been doing it’s damnedest to take you out, you need someone in your corner to remind you what tools are available, which muscles need to be strengthened, or that it’s okay to just take a nap and try again tomorrow.

I am currently accepting new clients! Do you struggle with feeling sure about who you are? Struggle with feeling empowered? Maybe people seem to walk all over you. Or you have trouble communicating your needs. This can be difficult to navigate, and it's common for young adults and teens to go though this. Unfortunately, avoiding these issues can lead to more problems down the road and to living a life that is not authentic to your true self. Imagine you didn't have to live this way. Imagine a life with less self-doubt.

As a therapist I work best with individuals who are ready to truly address childhood trauma along with any current symptoms they may be having. I explore how current troublesome symptoms today are potentially connected to past trauma. Many of my clients have a history dysfunctional childhoods and struggle with a variety of symptoms from anxiety and depression to self harming behaviors. Typically I start with a client weekly but this is a conversation I have with you. You are the expert on your life and I am simply a guide to point out things you may not have seen. My role is to help you make connections in order to heal.

My clients are looking for changes; it could be changes in life situations such as work, school, and home life. Most of us need support and direction when it comes to having healthier family relationships, and ways to connect or reconnect with significant loved ones. I also work with clients who are struggling with addiction and mental illness - this can feel so taboo, however, no family is immune to either of these challenges. It's my job to create the space for clients to learn and/or practice coping with life in healthier ways.

The pressure to perform is crushing at times. Having a high-profile job means never letting anyone see that you and your partner are disconnected emotionally and fighting every day. He looks like he doesn't care but on the inside, he furiously wants to keep her and is experiencing high levels of depression, stress, and fear, as well as lower levels of self-esteem. Emotionally-Focused Couples therapy can give your relationship issues the healing you need with privacy and confidentiality- you can control by holding your virtual therapy session in your home. You know you need help from someone who gets it.

Someone once said that there are as many different kinds of depression as there are people dealing with it. Whatever might have led you to feel down, anxious, exhausted from stress, or finding it difficult to cope, will require an approach specifically created for and tailored to you. And, in addition to helping you overcome these struggles, this approach should also make it easier for you to do more of the things that make you feel happy and improve your overall quality of life.
