I believe that meaningful change happens within caring and empathic relationships that honor each person’s individuality. My therapeutic approach is rooted in warmth, understanding, & collaboration. I believe that when people are met with deep understanding, they gain the insight and energy needed to overcome obstacles, align with their authentic values, and cultivate richer, more fulfilling lives. My intention is creating a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and valued. Through exploration of relational patterns, thoughts, and behaviors, we will work together to uncover the barriers to growth and fulfillment.

My experience in the counseling field working with intensive outpatient and private practice clients, among others, has offered me the opportunity to support people from a variety of backgrounds. These shaped me into a therapist who values compassion, inclusivity, and meeting people exactly where they are. I am supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and committed to creating a space where everyone feels seen and respected. My approach to therapy is based paying attention to a person as a whole including mind, body, relationships, environment, and sense of meaning. I believe healing happens when we honor all the aspects of life.

I am a Licensed professional counselor with over 20 years of experience in mental health. When we experience depression and anxiety it can be frightening. Know that these are medical disorders that affect how we think, feel, and the choices we make. Change is difficult. Progress is not where we are. It is the direction we are moving. Considering therapy is a move in the right direction.

It's that time of the year again. The holidays are behind us and we are officially in the first leg of the marathon that is 2026. Maybe you started off strong and can not figure out how you got off track so fast, or it may feel like you started out behind the curve again this year. How do you reconnect with yourself, your partner, or even your purpose? How do you navigate this life when it feels like everything is on fire? You're tired of just barely keeping your head above water while pretending everything is okay. It's time for a change. And maybe it's time to reach out and find someone to help you along the way.

The human experience can be quite the journey. It has been my honor as a therapist to help those that may have fallen off the path along the way (and those that never knew where it was to begin with). I’m a big believer that human connection is an important part of the therapeutic process. I’m here to meet you at your comfort level on the way to a place of strength.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand—especially in their relationships, emotions, or life transitions. I work with individuals and couples to explore the deeper patterns that drive emotional reactions, conflict, and disconnection. Together we look at how past experiences, attachment, and the nervous system shape the way we relate to ourselves and others, helping you move from reactivity and protection toward awareness, emotional safety, and connection.

Are you looking for a therapist that is trauma wise and educated to walk alongside you in your healing journey? I meet with any experiencing distress in their life across different ages, socioeconomics, and presenting problems. I am passionate about creating a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to process the parts of yourself that have been impacted by trauma and harmful experiences through an integrated approach addressing the brain, body, and person as a whole. Mental health services conducted by and for queer BIPOC individuals and communities are scarce as well, and I am honored to provide more accessibility to people like me.

We don't always expect what life may throw in our direction. Sometimes, even what we would consider a positive change can stress or burden us in ways that make it difficult to feel like ourselves or function at our best. This can result in feeling depressed, anxious, hopeless about the future, or even paralyzed. Relationships change; death, major illness, or relationships ending can contribute to difficulty in living life the way we would like. I work best with individuals suffering from anxiety-related issues, regardless of gender, and those who are struggling with life transitions.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
