One of the things that I love to focus on when it comes to my clients it's making sure that they have a experience that is specific to them. I have created progress reports that the clients are able to get throughout the process of their therapy journey that they can actually see their progress and areas that they need to work on. This has been very helpful and keeping the client engaged in allowing them to have a tangible form of being able to see their growth. I also love using a variety of different therapy techniques that can aid in their health and healing process.

Are you (or your kid) a geek, a nerd, weird, autistic? LGBTQ+? Not religious? A Blue dot in a Red state? Struggle with ADHD, social skills, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression? Maybe you are scared about or feeling the effects of the changes that have happened in our country over the past years?
Have you struggled to find a therapist who is the right fit; that actually gets you? Are you looking for someone genuine, caring and authentic, as well as skilled and experienced?
It can be hard to find the person who finally clicks, makes you feel understood, that you belong and there is hope. It’s life changing when you do, though!

It's hard to be strong for everyone all the time. You feel life is pulling in too many directions and there is no time to just stop and breathe. Your thoughts won't even shut up long enough to get some sleep. Life wasn't always this hard, but you may not even remember the last time something was actually fun. Feeling broken and beaten by the world is exhausting. It may seem hopeless now, but other people swear by therapy so maybe it will work for you too.

The hard things we go through in life change us and oftentimes we find ourselves stuck even years later trying to make sense of it all. That feeling that something’s “off” is not just a problem to fix but a signal that points to what needs care, and healing. . Whether you are navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, or life transitions, I create a compassionate space where your whole self-thoughts, emotions, and body- can find healing. I use evidence based practices like EMDR and cognitive processing tools to help you reconnect with yourself, and thrive again.

At Kind Minds, you’ll be welcomed with genuine empathy, warmth, and acceptance.
Welcome - I’m glad you’re here :) Resilience—the strength to recover and grow through life’s challenges—often begins with kindness and self-compassion. When we experience trauma, anxiety, depression, or disconnection, it can be hard to hold onto that compassion for ourselves or others. We want to feel better, live fully, and move forward—but stress and adversity can create barriers that feel difficult to overcome. As Maya Angelou said, “I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.”

Much of my clinical experience has been working with individuals and families impacted by challenging life events, whether it be a one-time problematic experience or generational. Sometimes there isn't an identified traumatic event or 'reason' one might be experiencing unwanted emotions and or behaviors. Many folks are simply seeking a therapist that will collaboratively work with them to improve overall well-being while learning to recognize and further develop their strengths. I help clients understand why they do what they do, while learning and improving skills, healthy reasoning, and adaptability.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
