My ideal clients are adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally drained, or stuck in painful patterns they cannot seem to break. Many come to therapy after trauma, high stress, relationship strain, family challenges, or seasons where they feel disconnected from themselves. I help clients slow down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and build practical tools for relief, healing, and lasting change. Together, we work at a pace that feels safe while moving toward clarity, confidence, and a greater sense of control.

Hi! I’m not currently able to accept new clients. My name is Stacie and I would love the opportunity to work with you in your therapeutic journey! I believe that the therapeutic relationship can be a great starting point for healing past and current hurts in one’s life. I view therapy as a tool to help an individual identify barriers and strengths that can assist in the healing process. Through open feedback and transparency in this type of relationship, I work with each client to get a better understanding of their personal experience in order to craft a unique therapeutic environment in which they can work best.

Counseling should lead a person toward peace and strength in relationships. I work in conjunction with individuals and families to find their strengths and build upon those, and also work toward positive strategies in interactions. Healing can be found best in the workings of relationship.

My ideal clients are women exhausted from keeping everyone else comfortable — and men ready to stop going through the motions. If you're dealing with people-pleasing, boundary issues, or relational patterns that keep repeating, you're in the right place.

Life throws almost everyone a curve ball at some point in their life. My primary goal is to provide you with a safe, caring environment in which, together, we can process the issues and the feelings around them, that disrupt the balance and harmony in your life. Identifying strengths you may have lost sight of, exploring options and challenging you to risk new thoughts and/or behaviors can help you rediscover the path you want to travel.

One of my primary goals as a therapist is to help you recognize how the problems you’re facing may be pulling you away from what matters most. You might find yourself withdrawing from the people you love, stuck in arguments that go nowhere (or escalate into anger), numbing out, overthinking, or repeating patterns you later regret. Over time, this can leave you feeling frustrated, exhausted, unfulfilled, or even hopeless. Together, we’ll slow that cycle down. Through acceptance and mindfulness, we’ll clarify your personal Values, and develop a meaningful direction forward—so your struggles no longer define your life.

I began pursuing a career path in counseling in 2013 when I began my undergraduate journey at Southwestern Christian University, getting a bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences. I then moved forward to pursue a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mid-America Christian University. I am now an LPC in the state of Oklahoma. Additionally, I actively serve as a volunteer at Family Church in Yukon, and I am most passionate about sharing hope with teens and young adults.

What you see is what you get with me. I approach therapy authentically, which means I talk to my clients like I talk to anyone else. It isn't my credentials that make me an excellent therapist. It is my recovery from CPTSD that puts me in a position of love and compassion for humans.

My initial goal as a therapist is to create an environment that feels comfortable to process complicated issues and emotions. Seeking out a therapist is intimidating. And often times finding the right therapist doesn't happen on the first try. Understanding that no one wants to have to tell their story over and over, I hope to be clear from the start about what you can expect in therapy with me so you are able to make an informed decision about if you would like to work together (and I hope you do!).

If you find yourself struggling, feeling like a mess, or just lost in the thick of life.... it can really cause turmoil and increase the "suck" for daily life. Maybe you're dealing with life transitions and children getting older and not really sure how to navigate those things. Hey, then there is grief and loss... even better, a life of trauma, or a traumatic event has happened and you feel stuck in the depressive state. Marriage and relationships, learning how to have healthy boundaries or even finding a way to feel ok with where you are in life.... You're in the right place. You have taken the first step!

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
