Through empathy and genuine connection, I help others navigate pain, trauma, & life’s challenges, empowering them to heal, grow, and rediscover hope. I am committed to meeting each person where they are & guiding them toward a more meaningful life. Sometimes, all you need is someone who will truly listen & understand the pain you’re experiencing. Taking the step toward therapy can feel uncertain, but you are not alone. I understand this journey, & my experience has shaped a deep compassion for those who have endured trauma.

Hello! I am proud of the many roles I have held in my life which include educator, victim advocate, mom, wife and now therapist. I put my heart into everything I do. I am excited to partner with people on their transformation journey by offering a caring, safe space to heal. My heart is to work with people on getting out of generational cycles of trauma, the deep pit of declining mental health, and those that feel out of control in their own minds. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest, with no chains holding us back. I want to partner with someone right where they are at to find the light in the darkness. It's there!

I imagine therapy as engaging in a process or strategy for growth. Sometimes growing is a simple step of strength and enrichment towards goals. Sometimes growing is a journey from pain through suffering into wholeness. I believe your true self was made in the image of God, to experience life that is full and abundant. Many adversities can impact the journey towards wholeness. I honor your starting place, and I look forward to partnering with you as you redeem your sufferings and restore your peace and hope.

Life sometimes gets in the way of living our lives to the fullest. With changes in family situations, behavior, loss and pain, it can be difficult finding hope and the confidence to face these daily challenges. Children and teens sometimes are unable to identify their feelings appropriately and suffer without understanding. Children communicate through play and through play therapy the client is able to process feelings, thoughts, and experiences.

Are you carrying pain no one ever really helped you understand, just told you to cope with? I help children, teens, and adults experiencing complex trauma, anxiety, dissociation, and identity-based stress. I'm EMDR Certified, LGBTQ+ affirming, and grounded in a social justice lens. My approach is warm, collaborative, and intentional, centered on nervous system healing, compassionate insight, and meaningful, lasting change. I work with children carrying big emotions and with teens and adults who carry sensitivity, shame or disconnection. Relief doesn’t have to mean reliving everything, even when memories feel “stuck” or overwhelming.

An ideal client is one who understands that I do not make ANY promises and I am not the solution to the issues they may have. I, along with their help, will attempt to unravel things and attempt to produce more effective outcomes. Not every Therapist is a good fit for you and that's okay.

Sexual Abuse Therapists
How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
